Doctor, doctor, we have a pulse.
Wow! If you would have told me that we would have only 4 TO's for the game and we would make 14-18 FT's I would have said we win by 20. Honesty, I didnt' think we were going to win this game.
Some positives:
- Only 4 TO's ( I'm stunned) - .777 on FT's ( I'm stunned) - Jaron played lock down defense on Sheets & Graves. - Zach was unstoppable in the post. - Butler couldn't stop Dashaun's dribble penetration. - Our perimeter defense was pretty for the most part all night long. - Jaron actually took some shots tonight. - Everrett played less minutes tonight then usual. I think that is good. - How big was Dashaun's 3 to end the first half? Can you say huge!
The negatives:
- I wasn't at Sat. game but if Drew played defense like he did tonight it is no wonder his minutes were down Sat. Polk had a field day against Drew. It wasn't until the end that Zach guarded Polk and slowed him down dramatically. Drew is struggling defensively.
- Why did PB wait until the 11:38 minute to sub in Jordan in the first half? We are so much better with Jordan on the floor. - Our interior defensive was horrible. - Zakee couldn't make a 3 tonight. He had many open looks but was off tonight.
This win keeps us from spinning completely out of control and leaves us a little light at the end of the tunnel.
Now we finish with 3 road games and only 1 home game to finish HL play. Definitely and up hill battle.

- Zakee couldn't make a 3 tonight. He had many open looks but was off tonight. Another positive tonight was Boyd's adjustments during the game. As you pointed out, Boyd wasn't hitting his threes tonight. Rather than keep chucking em up, he started to drive the lane and made several nice interior shots. Boyd was also money from the free throw line and iced the game for us.

I know Spencer's minutes were down but he only played 12 minutes. I'm not dissappointed, just surprised.
Jordan only played 18 minutes which is about 5-6 less then I'd prefer.
Dashaun 40 Zakee 36 Zach 35
To me one of the keys was when PB rested Zach for 3 minutes in the second half. It was right around the 8 minute mark that he came out and then re-entered at around the 5 minute mark. I think that little rest made the difference in the last 5 minutes of the game. He was more rested and more productive at the end.
This is getting old to talk about but Jaron has a nice shot and needs to shoot more then 4 shots, especially if he is going to play 32 minutes. His defense was outstanding tonight. I think maybe RaiderDog is on to something with Jaron?

I think their is a DIRECT CORRELATION between Everrett Spencer only playing twelve minutes and the team only having four turnovers.
When it comes to Everrett Spencer I personally think that a "slow down" approach on offense stifles him and he become over anxious. He is much better suited for an up tempo style offense were he can use his awesome athletic abilities to a fuller extent.
No doubt resting Zach in the second half paid big dividends for us in the last five minutes.
Big D, you brought up a key point. Zakee was off from the perimeter so he "adjusted" and started driving to he hole in and attempt to create on offense. This is a sign of a player maturing. I was surprised that Zakee played thirty-six minutes. His defensive was key on Butler's guards.
Go Raiders!!
