Grant and Mark Hughes - our two oldest guys and best shooters - went a combined 1 of 14 from 3. I mean, that was the kind of day it was folks. So it makes the game look terrible when, if just a scant few of those go down, it opens up so much more! This team kept fighting and playing hard. That is the start and then just add depth and more players that can get their own. Let Nagy do his thing. Looking forward to it.

I guess the coaching staff will be hot on the recruiting trail when they get back. Hopefully we find another big man to go with Love.

Next year's recruiting is already done. The big man coming in is Grant Basilie. He's gonna be a stud for us. Whether or not he redshits next year or not remains to be seen.

Of course there is nothing open next season. Just saying Parker and Hughes will be needing replaced after next year.

The Buffalo Head coach said that they won because they had the better guards tonight. Now that the game is over i can what if...what if Mitchell and Alstork played today? We would have had three seniors on the court instead of 1, it might have made a heck of a difference. And if Ryan had not been injured we would have been 10 deep (Buffalo has a nine man rotation). I was very proud that Nagy played the extra players at the end so they could get their name in the box score...that was very classy, and I'm sure it meant a lot to the team to allow everyone into the game. If Alstork and Mitchell were still on the time I don’t think we would have been playing yesterday. That is my opinion. They were both cancers in the locker room. This team achieved so much this year because they played as a team. I think we had 5-6 different guys be our leading scorer in a game at least once this year. Does anyone honestly think that happens if Alstork was still here? Lou was such a force this year because we looked to get him the ball down low. That opened things up for our shooters outside to give us our first true inside outside game in years. Alstork tendencies to try to go 1 on 3 or 1 on 4 on offense wouldn’t have worked. Mitchell could have helped us this season if he would have been the player he was last year. He turned into a mini Alstork in the locker room with his attitude and was dividing the team. Basketball is a team sport. Our success and failures this year were due to how well we played as a team. We lost yesterday because our guards couldn’t get it going from outside and everyone was missing gimme shots around the bucket. If we shoot the way we shoot the majority of the season I think we could have won or at the very least given them a real run for their money. The upside of yesterday is still tremendous for our program. It has our fan base excited about our future. I think we will see an upswing on season ticket sales next year and if we start the year off winning I think the walk up sales will grow as the season progresses. I think our administration saw what having a successful basketball program can do for the university and will be more willing to back this program. As far as the team, I think we all know that game won’t sit well with our coaches or players. It is going to motivate them even more to work to get back there. Our coaches now have some tangible success at WSU to sell to recruits. Some of our players stepped up and saw that they could play on the national stage and that confidence is going to help them going forward. Some of our other players struggled yesterday. I think they are all the type of athletes that will let yesterday’s failure burn in their gut and use that as motivation this off season. I honestly haven’t been this excited about our future in a very long time. We have a hell of a team coming back and a coach that isn’t looking for his next job. We have a coach looking to win his own first NCAA game.

What Big D said. The team has a lot to be proud of and we have a lot to look forward to. I'm hopeful that the fans who enjoyed this season can help to promote the program to new fans. This is a great time to start building something for the future.

I also don't think we would have been playing yesterday if we had mark or justin. Grants comment about his freshmen year says it all about attitude and locker room leadership. You care about each other and you will play like a team. Still wish them the best of luck, hopefully justin can graduate.
Future is very bright but with that said I expect to make it the dance each year!
This is most likely a new thread, but do we think Nagy will red shirt any players next year? If billy is still on the team we have an 8 man rotation. Hell vest could improve this off season and help out, I mean why not? So who would red shirt? Early discussion, but can't wait for next season!

Big D--you obviously know the game of basketball at a different level than most of us (biggreg1 knows it too) and the insight you give us is great. Based upon what you said above I am even more fired up for the future of this program. I think we will see a continued uptick in attendance, which I think could make the Nutt House a very tough place for opponents to steal a win.

I agree with Big D. I also think Wright State was better without those two guys. Not a good career decision by Mark Alstork. I checked his stats occasionally and he didn't do a whole lot stat wise at Illinois. Mitchell I don't think fit Wright State's style..but it's too bad for Mitchell since he played most of his career with the Raiders that he didn't finish with them.
On a separate thought...is Loudon Love the best recruit in hindsight since maybe Vaughn Duggins?
