UMBC dominated Virginia tonight. UMBC played great and Jairus Lyles played an almost perfect game. That is the kind of game WSU needed to have Thursday on offense to upset Tennessee. If Grant had made most of his shots, like Lyles did, than WSU would have won...it could have happened, UMBC proved that tonight. UMBC went 4-26 and 2-12 in the America East 3 years ago. 7-25, 3-13 2 years ago...Ryan Odom turned that thing around quickly. |

Great win for Loyola.
Maybe I'm just bias, but I think we could have made it to the sweet 16. We had open looks, some bad decisions too but we could have had been in that game and played Loyola for a rematch. Oh well hard to be upset when we make the tournament, but I think we could have made it a few more rounds.

I think this is the craziest tournament I've ever seen. The Big Boys are dropping like flies. I knew this was a wide open tournament, but I certainly didn't expect this. This might be the year a Mid-Major wins it all. And we have the potential of Clemson vs Loyola in a 1 Degree of Separation form WSU playing in the National Title game. Wow!

The ratings are in. Overall ratings for the entire tournament were down 3% from last year. The 2018 Final Four and Championship game lost viewers. In fact, Monday's championship game was the lowest rated championship game--ever.

Taking the game off CBS(over the air) and moving the game to TBS Cable channel has to be the main factor. An estimated 22 million consumers cut the cable cord last year, and 2018 will see this trend continue. Lots of people couldn't watch the game without a cable subscription.
