Cincy I hear you, but you could say Cleveland State has a lot more legitimacy than Wright State as then as well...and right now Cleveland State stinks as a program. I'm not sure what to tell you! Wright State needs to make the jump some year to actually winning a tournament game.

It's a final from Tulsa, Texas Tech over NKU 72-57. Norse played tough the first 15 minutes or so, but never could get back into the game. The Red Raiders suffocated NKU inside, forced the Norse outside (5-22 from 3), blocked 8 shots and forced 17 NKU turnovers on their way to the wire to wire victory. Texas Tech was on their game defensively today; the Norse never had a chance.

one of the worst things that could have happened for the future of rr would have been nku winning a couple games of games in the ncaa.

one of the worst things that could have happened for the future of rr would have been nku winning a couple games of games in the ncaa. KFX, please elaborate. That’s pretty easy to figure out. The last 2 teams that became the alpha dog in the HL and had NCAA success are no longer in the HL. We want to become that next alpha dog, not NKU. It’s also a very poorly kept secret that the MVC plans to expand in the near future adding Murray State when they can find another suitable team to add with them. It’s obvious that NKU is our biggest competition to getting that invite. Not gettting the invite to the MVC would be bad enough. Being stuck in the HL without NKU would be an even bigger blow because they are one of the only teams besides WSU that is putting any real effort into trying to be successful.

Being stuck in the HL without NKU would be an even bigger blow because they are one of the only teams besides WSU that is putting any real effort into trying to be successful. MVC expansion could be a win-win. One scenario would be WSU going to the MVC. Second scenario: if Murray State and NKU go to the MVC maybe the Horizon League could add Belmont and Morehead from the OVC. Both schools have basketball tradition. They do not have football teams. They both have decent baseball teams. Maybe add one more team like IPFW to make it a 12 team league. Without Murray State in the OVC, Belmont may decide it is time to change leagues. You obviously haven’t been following conference expansion talk. Belmont already turned down the MVC and the HL. They have no desire to change conferences and there is no incentive to come to the HL. The OVC without Murray State is a one bid conference. So is the HL. Belmont is centrally located in the OVC and likes to be a big fish in a small pond. They would be 3 hours away from the closest HL member (us). If the MVC loses Murray State look for them to add Lipscomb which already has a good rivalry with Belmont going and keep chugging right along. Morehead State has also already turned down HL overtures before we lost Valpo and were a better conference. They aren't coming here and FYI they do have football. For Wright State, the MVC is our best chance to get out of the HL. The A-10 doesn't make sense travel wise and they would never invite us with the school across town being able to block that invite. The OVC and SL are lateral moves with increased travel cost. The only other conference that makes any sense is the MAC and I don't see them inviting any non football schools. Maybe with power 5 conferences going to 20 game conference schedules, they might consider adding non football schools in the future but I haven't read anything about that being a possibility yet.

Do you guys watch much Big 12 basketball? Texas Tech is one of the elite defenses in the country. 2nd in FG% allowed 1st in total FGs allowed 17th in 3pt % allowed 2nd in PPG allowed 2nd in points average allowed NKU does not have the offensive gusto to deal with the speed and aggressiveness that TTU will bring on defense. This has blowout written all over it. This is a bigger mismatch than we had last year. TTU held 15 opponents under 60 points this season. They won all but 1 of those games. Plus they have the Big12 POY in Jarrett Culver who nobody on NKU will be able to guard. Norse will lose by at least 20, and if I was a betting man, I'd say more like 30. Good call by you. Texas Tech all the way to the final.
