The starters were Gentry, Love, Wampler, Hall, and Hughes. Earnsthausen was 1rst off the bench followed by Skylar Potter. It appears that theae 7 will play most of the minutes this year, especially early in the season. Potter already has "mans" body. Physically he looks like a 22-23 year old. Malachai Smith played in the first half as well as did Grant Basile. I think Smith will be part of an 8 man rotation. Basile struggled on the defensive end of the court , so I dont expect to see a lot of minutes for him early on. James Mann didn't get into the game until about 7 minutes left in the 2nd half. Based solely on that it doesn't appear he will be part of the rotation this year.

Be nice if NCAA would make a similar redshirt rule for basketball that they have for football. You get 4 games to play in football and keep a redshirt year. Would have been nice to get Basile maybe 10 games later on this season to play but still qualify for a redshirt season.

It's much too early to say who is going to get the minutes. It's a long season and slumps and injuries can change lineups very quickly. My impressions: Loudon got in foul trouble early and sat for most of the first half. He was frustrated when he was on the floor and never got into the flow of the game. I like him a lot and am confident that he'll come back quickly. Wampler was ice cold for the first half. He was putting up a few questionable shots and they weren't falling. However, his other skills were terrific. He handles the ball well, has quick hands and follows the ball for rebounds. Gentry was near perfect. Potter is going to be very important to us. He's far ahead of most freshmen in his court smarts. Parker made a Three! and drew two great charges. Hughes was frustrated, too, though he threw down a terrific driving dunk in the second half. A real rim rattler. Hall had a good game but I think he's capable of a lot more. I'd like to see him show a little more energy on the court. Playing within yourself is fine but the lack of fire may be his biggest weakness. Don't get me wrong; I like him and think he'll be a great asset for us.
This game doesn't tell us anything about the season. Notre Dame College was about the same skill level of a top notch high school team. When we get 4-5 games into the regular season we'll know what we have for the rest of the year.
