Last year there were 855 D1 players who decided to transfer to other schools, which averages out to nearly 2.5 transfer per every D1 school. It seems this has become a way of life in D1 College basketball. Attached is a link to Verbal Commits transfer list. There's already 137 players on the list now. After Kareem Richardson (former WSU Assistant Coach) was fired at UMKC, 9 of their players have announced they are leaving the program. How in God's name will a new coach be able to field a team for them next year?

Does anyone remember at what point in time we heard that Everett was transferring last year? Trying to gauge how long til we can breathe easier about keeping all of the players into next season

Why do transfers from a particular school tend to come out grouped on verbalcommits? For example, recent posts listing 3 Kent Kent State transfers came out at at once. And 2 from Prairie view listed further down at the same time, and so on. Do schools to determine when transfer info is made public? Most info on verbalcommits is fan generated so my guess is that they group that info after a fan makes them aware of the transfers. I notified them about 3 of our 4 commitments for next season. |
