you hear a lot about analytics in sports today and that article is packed with analytic data. interesting that the raiders offense with the tanner/ Calvin duo produces at a higher rate with them than without. I wonder if our coaches use that kind of data in determining lineups during a game??

I wonder if our coaches use that kind of data in determining lineups during a game?? That's a good question. I'd imagine you have some coaches who are "old school" and don't pay too much attention to data and analytics (to the extent of the article) and some who obsess over it and try to incorporate it into their game.

I wonder if our coaches use that kind of data in determining lineups during a game?? You are not reading the article correctly. We don’t produce more when Tanner and Trey are in the game than we do with our other rotations. The article is pointing out that we can use more players in our regular rotation than we have in the past and as a result we are scoring more overall.

It pretty clearly states the points per possession is higher when both of them are on the court, but is compared to when "one" of them is on the bench...doesn't necessarily compare to all combinations...according to 85.2 points per game (current average) and 71 possessions per game (the approximate number referenced in the article), that's about 1.2 ppp -- pretty close to 1.18 -- although that is the "average" so I suppose it must be higher in some combinations.

sorry big d, but you are wrong. paragraph six I believe says in hl play we score 1.18 ppp when tanner and , is it Calvin, the freshman pg, are in the game together compared to 1.10 ppp when either is on the bench. that is the kind of data that a coach can use to determine his lineup at crunch time.
article also says we are scoring more due to more possessions but I thought that other data was fascinating stuff.

Yep, I was the one reading that wrong.

I just received the email about Horizon League Championship tickets. Has anyone received or know of a discount code? I've seen it mentioned on different broadcasts those will be available.

I just received the email about Horizon League Championship tickets. Has anyone received or know of a discount code? I've seen it mentioned on different broadcasts those will be available. This was in a recent email from the department. Each day will have two sessions – one session for women in the afternoon, and one session for men in the evening. There are a total of four sessions. Men’s games will be ticketed as both Reserved and General Admission. Women’s games will be ticketed as General Admission only. Reserved seating is available for single sessions only. General Admission seating is available for both single-sessions and all-sessions. Home/visitor benches and cheering sections will be determined based on the final regular season standings. As the #1 or #2 seed, we are guaranteed to be the home team on Monday. To sit with other Raider fans, we suggest you purchase Reserved seats in either 101 or 100, or sit directly behind those areas in General Admission seating. If we advance to the finals the Raider fan section will be determined by which team is the higher seed. If we’re the higher seeded team, it will be section 101. If we’re the lower seeded team it will be section 117.

Good catch! I was assuming he would come back, but you have to imagine some power 5 schools reaching out since he would not have to sit out a year...
