Damn it. You can't miss FTs in a close one.

Missed a call on the Gentry drive. Showed it on the tv feed half a dozen times. Can't ever get a call in that spot, but that play call was God awful. We deserve to lose with a fade away baseline jumper like that. Such a low percentage shot. Just a garbage play call.
Led by 14, so you cant put it all on the offense either.

Gave away a win. Couldn't close. Offense didn't look good down the stretch.
Any talk of an at-large bid can stop now. We need to focus on getting better and winning our crappy league in March before getting destroyed as a #15 seed.
It is an awful feeling to see the excitement for a season slowly slip away over the end of that game. Argh.

These are the types of games we are going to lose this season. We've lost all focus on the defensive end and are clealry content straight up outshooting the other team night in and night out. If the other team has the same game plan, you're susceptible to a loss when your offense drys up, just like ours did in the second half.

Our defense was better tonight than it has been so far this year and it will continue to improve as the year goes on LIKE IT DOES EVERY YEAR. We lost a close game to a team that will win 20+ games this year. It sucks but there is no reason to go all damn doom and gloom over the whole season.

Before the game Nagy said that this was most likely the best team we’ll play this season.

I agree that this one game does not warrant all of the doom and gloom. But 20 win seasons don’t mean squat anymore, especially against the schedule we have this year and a piss poor HL. The fact that we wasted away a 16 point lead at home should be of some concern...still trying to digest this one but there’s no good excuse for it.
BEAT urbana.

That's a loss that stings. Leading the entire game and having the rug pulled out from underneath you in the final seconds. I heard part of the post-game show. Coach Nagy claimed the blame for the lack of confidence/plays in the final minutes. The one that stood out to me was up by 4 with over a minute left, the Raiders took the ball up the court and then just stood around to run the clock down and then turned the ball over without ever getting a shot. At least run some offense and make the opposition play some defense. Who knows you might get a wide open shot.
Something that concerned me the previous 2 games was the Raiders allowed the opposition to hang around and tonight it backfired. They can't let teams continue to hang around or make mini runs to make it a close game. With the talk in the preseason about wanting to stand a chance of an at-large bid, they can't simply be content to win; they have to win big (10+ points) since it is part of the NET calculation.
