I am thrilled that we won tonight. Now we go into the UIC game with a 2 game winning streak and a load of confidence.
If you would have told me before the game that we would go 10-22 from the 3's I would have thought you were nuts.
Their were a lot of postives tonight.
- Jaron Taylor actually shot the ball tonight and WHAM, he scores 13 pts. This entire season everyone has been screaming for him to shot and tonight he answered the call. He was 4-7 from 3. If Jaron gets hot from the outside it will be huge for this team down the stretch. He could be the missing link for this team. Outside shooting has been 1 of our weaknesses but if he steps up it sure helps with this problem.
- Drew has now put back to back awesome games together. He is hitting his stride at the right time. He is averaging 20 ppg over his last 2 games. Nice job Drew!
- We are a DRAMATICALLY better team when Zakee is hot from behind the arc. I wish he were a bit more consistent but when he is on he is fun to watch. Lets hope he stays hot over the next several weeks.
- Dashaun had a nice game but he missed several of his patented floater shots in the lane that he usually makes.
- Ok , first I want to give Zach props for his 15 boards. Now let me ask everyone a question. After his first 2 shots were blocked did anyone think he would even attempt another shot? He seemed a little intimidated by NIU's big guys. Everyone in the NC knew he wasn't going to shoot. Which leads me into my next point.........
- Riddle me this Batman? When we can't score in the paint and our only real threat in the post, Zach, won't shot why in the world did Jordan only make a couple token appearence in the second half? Look, we won and I'm happy, but sometime I think PB is so in love with Zach that it hurts the team on occassion. Jordan so far this season hasn't back down from anyone and I thought we could have used his inside presence tonight but he barely played......this is a mystery to me.
- With Jaron's emergence it looks like Spencers minutes are going down some. I like Jaron's steady play and if he continues to look for his shot it will only make us a better team. Kudos to Everrett for his 8 boards!
Nice, nice win tonight. Now lets go get the Flames.
