I mean, if I were a college coach, I’d like to think I could control what 100+ kids are doing too. But fact is, these kids are going to go to class, parties and student run organizations whether they are in season or not. Maybe they have fewer hours to do so, but they are still going to do it if they so choose. Look at those Indians pitchers despite COVID running ramped in baseball.
If you want to argue students shouldn’t be in class, I can’t say whether I agree with you or not. Certainly glad I’m not the one who has to make these very tough decisions. I don’t envy any of these leaders who have to make decisions without conclusive facts one way or another.

Hate to see it, but good call by the HL. The safety of our student-athletes is priority #1. No, it is not a good call. The players are safer in their program than they are going to class, parties, and other student gatherings. NKU would like to have a word.

I want to be excited for a new commissioner but since she's been with the HL since 2014, I'm not sure how much she brings to the table in terms of new ideas.

I want to be excited for a new commissioner but since she's been with the HL since 2014, I'm not sure how much she brings to the table in terms of new ideas. Well, she was shit canned by the NCAA for incompetence prior to joining the HL so she already sounds like the perfect replacement for LeCrone. www.si.com/si-wire/2013/02/18/ncaa-fires-vp-of-enforcement-julie-roe-lach

Yeah, I’m not happy about this either. Why in the hell didn’t the HL do a national search and look for someone more experienced and qualified? We finally had a chance to get rid of LeCrone and we let him hand pick his replacement and are allowing him to stay on in a bs job he created just to keep drawings a salary for the conference.

This move is not surprising at all IMO. The conference as a whole seems content with mediocracy and this move goes right in line with maintaining the status quo.
