Basile hitting a three is one of my favorite things on this team. Having a big man who can shoot even one or two threes a game can totally change how a defense plays. Go WSU! You should love our team next year. Brandon Noel and AJ Braun will give us 2 more bigs that can step out and knock down outside shots. |

These fouls are just trash. This game is being called like a 3rd grade girls game. Just atrociously inconsistent both ways. Hopefully these guys don't follow us down to Highland Heights. I don't know why the conference cannot get better officiating. Is so consistently inconsistent you just look at it as another HL game because it just seems to never get better. I don't think there are many more "better" officials. I think the game is so fast and the players so big that it is hard call everything. I watch my friends working their way up the officiating ladder and they work so hard to get their chance at D1, then to move up to better conferences. They are evaluated and re-evaluated X 10. The guys we have are the cream that has risen to the top. I don't know what the answer is to improve officiating. |

Better conferences get better officials, plain and simple. Consider that there's probably something like 125ish d1 games today. The more seniored officials with longer careers, more ncaa tournaments, final 4s, etc. are not doing Horizon League games. It used to be that we'd draw in officials from power conferences when we had big tv games, but since we went to playing on the weekends, we've pissed that goodbye. I think Lamont Simpson doing the CSU games this weekend is the first "veteran" this conference has seen in ages. Most of these guys aren't much older than the players on the court. Bottom line is that we aren't a desirable league to officiate, so we get what we get. We're the asian carp of the basketball lake. |

I've really fallen off tracking recruiting the last few years so this is exciting to hear. Having enough size is always a concern for a school like WSU. That's one of the reasons I want to see this team in the NCAA tournament. 2 legitimate great big guys is what you need to try and pull an upset. |
