I don't know if anyone saw the Xavier at UCONN game on FS1 but Xavier just whipped #13 UCONN 7-2. Xavier after starting the season 0-9, is now 27-23 with an RPI of 58. UCONN is 40-11 with an RPI of 45. Xavier beat #RaiderGang 2-1 in 10 innings earlier this year. UCONN, Xavier and Creighton are the top three teams in the Big East. It will be interesting to see how this helps the Raiders RPI.
Also, Xavier beat Michigan on May 10TH 10-3.

Raiders split with Milwaukee today, losing game one 1-0, and thumping the Panthers 12-2 in the final. We finish with 3 at Milwaukee next weekend. Of course, that's all a formality, as both the Raiders and Panthers will return to the Nisch for the HL Tournament. While we've kind of ran away with the league this season, it's certainly been a year of ups and downs. We've lost games to frankly some really bad baseball teams this season due to a largely inconsistent bullpen all season. While I'd like to think we're the odds on favorite, if our pitching woes rear their ugly head, it really could be anyone's tournament.

HL Baseball Championship at the Nisch Wright State (20-9) earned the Horizon League baseball regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the championship as seeding for the championship was announced on Saturday with the end of the regular season. The battle for the title will begin Wednesday, May 25 in Dayton. The Raiders clinched their fourth-straight #HLBASE regular season title and will face the lowest-remaining seed from day one at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 26. Oakland (18-11) secured the No. 2 seed and will also receive a first-round bye. The Golden Grizzlies will open championship action on Thursday, May 26 at 3 p.m. ET against the highest-remaining seed from Wednesday’s games. UIC (14-11) earned the No. 3 seed in the championship, ending the regular season with a victory at Youngstown State on Saturday. The Flames will face the No. 6 seed Northern Kentucky (11-17) in game two on Wednesday, May 25, scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. During the regular season, the two teams split four regular season games. Purdue Fort Wayne (13-15) picked up the No. 4 seed in its first-ever appearance in the championship. The Mastodons will battle No. 5 seed Youngstown State (12-16) in the opening game of the championship at noon ET on Wednesday, May 25. The Penguins won two of three regular season contests with Purdue Fort Wayne. Both contests on Wednesday are elimination games. The #HLBASE Championship game is set for Saturday, May 26 at noon ET. Today's Raider game 🆚 No. 6 NKU ⏲️ 10:45 a.m. (pushed back from 10 am due to weather issues) 📍 Nischwitz Stadium 📺 es.pn/3MPFHSa📊 bit.ly/3IUpycfFor the Raiders to win the Championship Tournament it will be a heavy lift. They will have to put together a string of wins and that has been very tough for our #RaiderGang to do. They really didn't handle business this year when they had to. The pitching staff was spotty all year and the Raider hitters, although pretty good, couldn't pick up the slack, nor could the defense. Without reliable pitching Wright State's margin for error shrank. Maybe too much pressure on the bats. How a team wins college baseball games often comes down to depth and mindset. How many times this year did the Raiders have leads and didn't finish off their opponents? How many times could they have won a series on Sunday and didn't grab the momentum for next week? The answer is a lot. So, let's root for our #RaiderGang to get on a roll and win it. Oh, and get out to the Nisch to root them on. |

NKU goes down in order in the top of the 1st and the Raiders open up the bottom of the 1st with a leadoff hit and NKU error advancing the runner to 2nd. Back on a rain delay immediately after that.
