Oladapo is not going to end up here. I'm 100% sure he burned all bridges with our staff/athletic department last spring the way he handled the recruiting process with us. I don't know if our staff would re-consider him or not or if he would even be interested in coming here now. We recruited him pretty hard after he announced he was transferring from Oakland last spring. It is my understanding that he verbally committed to our staff and set an announcement date for a few days later. In the days in between, he started getting called by P6 schools and obviously flipped to Pitt. He was being recruited to WSU by assistant coach Chambliss, who is no longer on our staff so I don't know if he has a connection to anyone left on our current staff. Personally, if there is a chance he is interested in coming here, I think we need to at least kick the tires and talk to him. He was a damn good player when he was in the HL and would be an instant impact player for us softening the loss of Basile next season. We might be a little butt hurt from what happened last year, but I don't think you can let that get in the way of adding an impact player to your roster.

Since he already transferred once would he have to sit out a year?

He would have to get a waiver but nowadays that happens all the time. The NCAA doesn’t have any teeth anymore

There are currently 33 players in the portal.
Other ways to break that down: - Just over 23% of the league - One in every 4.33 players - Over 2.5 full rosters

You wonder if this will kill Mid Major basketball in some leagues...fans tend to get used to following certain players, watching them grow in College, and the just not knowing year to year if you are going to be any good for all of these teams, makes it tough for building a following.

My thoughts exactly. Seems like mid-majors are more and more appearing like minor league sports teams...

That chaps my ass. Sucks I have to root against him. OSU is a middle of the pack big 10 team. Just doesn't seem like that's gonna work out the way he's been hoping. Not sure he works his way into serious minutes under Holtman.

Not sure he works his way into serious minutes under Holtman. I won't root against him, though I could not care less about O$U BB anyway. In Tanner's case, he graduated and kept his commitment to WSU until then. I have much less disdain for guys like him who are graduate transfers than someone who leaves before graduating. The one exception to that is when the coach leaves. I really hate the transfer rules (no sitting out a year for non-grads). It's just so disruptive to smaller programs. And, with the added COVID year, it's going to be especially problematic for the next 4 years or so.
