We're also not the only team still working out their final schedule. Others I've seen just in our realtive-ish area are Miami, NKU, PFW, Illinois State, Indiana State, & Marshall.

You know, runt, for two decades I was hoping that the raiders (hoops version) would wangle an invitation to Hawaii for one of those exempt tournies. Sadly it never happened. But at least the baseball players get to go over to the island and play a little baseball.
Question for you, runt. Do the hs base ballers get rankings similar to fb and bb?? If so do any of our recruits have a multi star rating? Did any have offers from power 5 conference teams??

They get a number ranking by position, by state and nationally. RaiderGang is generally not getting Top 200 players. We get some top 25 Ohio players. We have a catcher that was number one in Ohio. If WSU gets their share of the top Ohio players, then that is a good start.

Maybe I jumped the gun a little. I went back and checked, last year the schedule didn't come out until January 5, 2022. So, coming out in January is not unheard of.

The schedule got a little clearer and a little fuzzier. PFW confirmed the dates and locations I suggested, but the info I was given on Illinois State is incorrect, which still leaves an open weekend Mar 10-12. We know when we're playing NKU and I've made educated guesses as to which weekend is home and which is away. Looks like filling that weekend of Mar 10-12 is a sticking point, and we're probably looking for a few midweek games against teams that we could travel to or could come in easily, though most of those options are quickly filling up. The only "local-ish" schools who haven't released their full schedule are Marshall, Miami OH, and Toledo. At Hawaii Feb 17,18(DH),19 At Kentucky Feb 24,25,26 At Arkansas Mar 3,4,5 (#7) OPEN WEEKEND Mar 10-12 potentially Vs PFW Mar 17,18,19At Ohio State Mar 21 Vs Oakland Mar 24,25,26Vs Xavier Mar 29 (NKU, likely on the road) Mar 31-Apr 2Vs Cincinnati Apr 4 (Game at Miami-OH) At Milwaukee Apr 6,7 8 Vs Xavier/Miami Joe Nuxall Apr 11 (Game at UC) Vs YSU Apr 14,15,16 At Dayton Apr 18 At PFW Apr 21-23 At Oakland Apr 28,29,30 Vs Ohio State May 2 (NKU, likely at home) May 5-7Vs Dayton May 9 (RV) Vs Milwaukee May 12,13,14 At YSU May 18,19,20 Rankings are per the Collegiate Baseball's Preseason Poll (which we are receiving votes in)

Another update (thanks to madnesswsu for digging up the Army series. Now it just looks like all we're missing is a few mid-week games. (Looking at Toledo and Marshall as solid options). At Hawaii Feb 17,18(DH),19 At Kentucky Feb 24,25,26 At Arkansas Mar 3,4,5 (#7) Vs Army Mar 10,11,12 Vs PFW Mar 17,18,19 At Ohio State Mar 21 Vs Oakland Mar 24,25,26 Vs Xavier Mar 29 (NKU, likely on the road) Mar 31-Apr 2 Vs Cincinnati Apr 4 (Game at Miami-OH) At Milwaukee Apr 6,7 8 Vs Xavier/Miami Joe Nuxall Apr 11 (Game at UC) Vs YSU Apr 14,15,16 At Dayton Apr 18 At PFW Apr 21-23 At Oakland Apr 28,29,30 Vs Ohio State May 2 (NKU, likely at home) May 5-7 Vs Dayton May 9 (RV) Vs Milwaukee May 12,13,14 At YSU May 18,19,20 Rankings are per the Collegiate Baseball's Preseason Poll (which we are receiving votes in)

This is an awesome schedule. Scheduling and winning their share of those non conference games is why WSU baseball, to me, is the best college sports program regardless of sport, between the local colleges. Very cool to see.

That is a solid schedule, especially when compared to the MAC schools on our schedule.

Here is the D1.com Top 25 Rankings. Arkansas is ranked #8 and they are the only ranked team on RaiderGang's schedule. Kentucky is not ranked but they very well may end up in the top 25. WSU's schedule is still a solid. I think there are a number of teams that will be Quad1 or Quad2 teams on the schedule. d1baseball.com/rankings/2023-d1baseball-preseason-top-25-rankings/Just to compare our schedule with Toledo's. The two best teams on their schedule are Michigan and Wright State. Ohio State is the only other decent team on their schedule. They play schools like Presbyterian, USC-Upstate, UT-Matin, Gardner-Webb, ETSU, MTSU, Dayton......not very tough at all. Xavier plays a schedule about like Wright State's, but they have the advantage of playing in a better conference. XU opens up at Oregon #25 and they play UofL #16. Also, Dayton plays three against #2 Tennessee, three against #16 U of L, Three at Ohio State. one game at UK and they play Wright State home and home. They do not play UC or Xavier.

Here are the conference RPI rankings from last year from the teams #RaiderGang plays in 2023. Conference ratings do not change that much from year to year. Team RPI ratings do change a lot from year to year. The low rating of the HL is why it is critical for Wright State to play a tough out-of-conference schedule.
*Horizon Leage #25
*SEC #1
*ACC #2
*Big 10 #8
*Big East #13
*Big West #20
*Atlantic 10 #21
*MAC #22
*Patriot League #27

This caught my eye today. Nebraska just signed a 15-year-old two-way player for the 2026 recruiting class. The 15-year-old is well regarded by Perfect Game, which pegs him the No. 125 overall prospect in his class. He joins a 2026 Nebraska class that is among the nation’s best in the very early going with other pledges from top two-way talents Beau Peterson (No. 11 overall from Shawnee, Kansas) and Bryce Fountain (No. 193 overall from Norris High School in Nebraska).
I don't think RaiderGang has signed any players that I can remember during their freshman year of HS. Wright State gets their recruits after the top programs have picked off the top-ranked players, typically the Top 200. Most of the RaiderGang recruits are ranked in the 400s and lower. It is amazing how good Wright State has been at taking lower-rated players and coaching them up.
Wright State's 2023 recruiting class is not ranked in the Top 100.
The following Raider opponents are ranked by Perfect Game in the 2023 Top 100 in recruiting:
1. Arkansas 22. Louisville 38. Kentucky 41. UCF 49. Hawaii 56. Ohio State 57. Cincinnati 68. Dayton 70. Xavier

Let's go Raider fans, let's pack-out that ballpark. This could be a really fun event for the community and of course, baseball fans..
