Our last FG was at 2:59, up 6. We took a timeout at 00:27 down 2. Nowhere in that 8 point swing did Nagy even give an inkling of thought to use a TO...that's downright bushleague coaching.

Essentially the second place game today for us. UC-R should coast past ACU today based on the other games. There's no line for today's game yet, but ESPN analytics favors us 58.1%. Seems like Dillon Jones is the guy for Weber State, he leads them in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. I imagine he may be Finke's problem to deal with based on his size, though I haven't seen Weber State play this season.

Yes we did. The infatuation with Finke - and to a similar degree Norris - is mind-numbing. I don't recall a player with a longer rope than Finke since Jaylon Hall was here playing like he had a BBall IQ of 10. I don't get it. And I've already heard the BS about his defense way too many times. I like Finke...he's just not a 30+ minutes per game kind of guy...not with us having a deep team this year. Welage looks so much better and smarter than half the team...yet he can't get extended minutes. We have (3) big guys who can play the 4/5 and still we have Finke out there guarding power forwards. Pissed that game away indeed.

Tim is getting way too much blame for a decision Nagy has made about playing time and who plays what position. Tim is a natural SF. He is getting forced to play PF and he is trying his best while playing extended minutes going against guys that are taller and weight 20-30# more than him routinely. If the kid was allowed to play his natural SF position and was limited to 30 minutes a game he would be a much more productive player for us. It’s not his fault he is getting put in this situation.
Nagy needs to figure that out sooner vs later. He also needs to learn to use his timeouts to stop runs other teams make against us. We had significant leads in both games we lost this year and they both should have been won. They could have been victories if we made better coaching decisions.

I don't think he's going to change his ways in his 7th year at WSU and 27th year overall as a head coach. Lol Raiders should bounce back today and come back home with a solid 5-2 record and 1st place in the HL.

I don't think he's going to change his ways in his 7th year at WSU and 27th year overall as a head coach. Lol Raiders should bounce back today and come back home with a solid 5-2 record and 1st place in the HL. I'd like to reiterate the fact that letting a good team fight through slumps is understandable if you have the trust in your team, and specifically, their leaders to do that. I don't k now how Nagy has trust right now. And that's not to dog any players for not being leaders, but what he needs to realize is that we have one player that's really experience in leading this team and that's Calvin. Every other piece is either new to the team, coming back after long injury, or just now seeing their PT substantially increase, so he shouldn't be letting this relatively inexperienced collective unit navigate blindly. The excuse is fine if you've got 80% of our minutes returning and a team that normally fires on all cylinders that you KNOW can break a slump; we don't have any of that. There's nothing he can tell me that will appease me for not using a TO during the final 3' last night. The good news is we can (and should) finish the event 2-1, which is a stark comparison to the 0-3 we did in the MTE last year. It's also good news that last night really doesn't count for much of anything, but he needs to adjust to realize that his mentality on this 100% cost us a game last night, and we can't afford to do that once conference play starts.

I'm expecting a good game from Calvin today, he can control this game for us. Anyone still hopeful Finke will heve an offensive breakout game soon?

I won’t hold my breath til he changes. If you look at stats regarding effectiveness and efficiency you can see two starters in bottom 3.

Perimeter defense hasn't made any strides overnight, Weber starts 3-3 from behind the arc.

Nice run, 9 straight, and Weber has missed their last 2 3's (and their coach called a TO!!) Raiders lead 26-22

Lol AJ with a monster block. Calvin had an amazing pass to Alex that brings the leas to 31-22. We are on a 14-0 run.

Man, instant replays would be of use for plays like that block.
