Hopefully the Raiders found value in getting punched in the mouth late in the second half but holding on to the victory.
Having the lead cut to 5 multiple times after being down 21 is just how streaky this team can be.
I will almost be as equally surprised if WSU wins the conference tournament or if they lose in the first round.
Still have a ways to go before then but when you hit the midpoint of conference play it's interesting to think about the rest of the season.

I noticed this team needs to learn how to prevent interception of a long pass. The recipient needs to take two steps toward the passer to prevent the interception. If they move forward they will more than likely get a foul on the defensive player. I thought it was interesting that Jim Brown pointed out that Raiders greatly out scored Milwaukie when Alex and Andrew we're on the court. Also, they double teamed Noel which left Alex or Andrew open.

^ yep we need shooters on the floor if teams start doubling Noel. Alex and Andrew certainly fit that bill.

^ yep we need shooters on the floor if teams start doubling Noel. Alex and Andrew certainly fit that bill. Andrew is shooting 50% from three! Alex is shooting 40% and WSU's third best shooter from three is... Noel at 38.5% (10/26 on the year) Need to get Alex and Andrew shooting more threes and everyone else to shoot less. On the season they average 2.5 makes/game.

That first half was fun to watch. Milwaukee did not play well, but WSU certainly took advantage. Feel like I mention it in every post, but love Welage and what he does for this team.
Amari Daivs' performance was incredibly hard to watch. A couple of horrible turnovers, but more notably, Milwaukee scored 17 POINTS in the 7 MINUTES he was out there. Not sure how Nagy uses him going forward. I was excited with Amari's addition as I'm sure any fan that saw him play Green Bay was. Did not see this coming.

I am really hoping that Amari is just in some sort of transitional funk and that he will eventually get his groove back. He just has not yet shown himself to be the player many knew him to be.

For the life of me I cannot understand what Hube - and especially Welage - had/have to do to get more PT. It's a tough thing to post on because what follows will seem like me crapping on other players - that is not my intention.
Watching Finke, Davis, and Norris on the court at the same time is excruciating. The offense is playing 2 on 5 in that alignment...and defensively Davis is still struggling and Norris is quite over-matched. Hube has height at 6'3" and this is his 3rd year...he is much thicker and stronger than Davis/Norris. Welage is 6'6" and uses that length well as a guard - offensively and defensively.
We really took it to a 1st place team in our conference with MORE Hube and Welage. That difference was painfully obvious.
I'm sure Finke is a great guy and teammate. I see glimpses of terrific defense followed by carelessness with the ball and essentially no offense that can be counted-on. He's a glue guy...I get that. But...he is NOT a 35+ minute guy. Those 35+ minute guys are guys like Holden, Basile, Benzinger, D Wood, Calvin, Burleson, Bill Edwards, Hollins, Duggins, etc. I actually think he would be MORE effective if he played 10 less minutes/game.
