If you told me this past off season that Amari Davis would play 5 minutes in a triple overtime game for us and he wasn't injured I never would have believed you. Would have looked at your even more crazy if you said no one was even surprised by it. When you lose 2 of your best players to transfer and replace them with someone who isn't contributing anything you end up under .500 in the conference I guess.

On what planet and in what sport does it make sense to continue playing guys who simply can't do the job? Davis is on the bench now - and rightfully so as he's been inexplicably bad (unfortunately)...but how/why does Finke continually play the minutes he does and how in God's name does Norris EVER play over Welage?! I'm sorry to say this, but it looks like Nagy plays favorites and is incredibly stubborn. There is no other way to explain it. We've watched Finke be this exact same player for years now...he's not in a funk...Norris is exceptionally over-matched on the floor both offensively and defensively...him being on the floor for that last play (defensive) was ridiculous. I don't blame the players....they don't put themselves in the game...but this repeated decision-making by Nagy is baffling. I won't blame Andrew if he transfers after this year. He is much better than both an older player and a younger player who play ahead of him. I don't know what he is supposed to do to get more time. Please don't tell me he has to play better defense...that is BS if one just watches the play of the other guys ^ ahead of him. This is so frustrating to watch happen again and again and again. What worries me is that Calvin, despite saying he'll be here a 5th year, leaves and Hubbregtse and Welage also bolt based on their playing time. I get that Coach tries to pin some of the struggle on experience but next years roster, unless this year turns around, could be decimated with transfers. Welage and Alex are both getting the raw deal. Not nearly as bad as how Donlon did Jerran Young though (still the worst use of a talented player in the last 20 years at WSU

A couple of observations from the game last night. First, their inside guys were way more athletic and aggressive than ours. They seemed to get their shots off whenever they wanted. Our guys struggled to get good shots.
Second, people want Trey to be more of a point guard, set up guys, get assists. Problem is we do not have many weapons we can count on to score consistently. It was all there last night. Trey started out hot as a firecracker and our offense looked unstoppable. The middle of the game ysu put a taller player on him and that gave him some problems and we struggled to score. Toward the end of the game he started hitting again and our offense looked good. We just do not have much behind him. btw, someone criticized him for taking a long 3 that he missed but a few minutes later he took an even longer one and made it. We need him to score.
To willie’s point about Tim, I think it was early in the game we had a breakout , Tim had the ball , had a couple of defenders on his heels. Instead of taking it strong to the hoop he stopped under the basket and started pump faking. End result we got nothing.
I do not know what Trey was rated as a high school senior being recruited. Maybe a one star, maybe not even that. But if he were being recruited today he would be a solid three star recruit. Having him commit to returning next year is a real plus to next season. That said, be forewarned raider fans. Big time programs have guys who spend hours reviewing tape of low major programs looking for diamonds that have developed into really good players. They watch Trey a couple of times and somebody is going to come around throwing some dough at him. Hopefully he will stay committed to the raiders.

Davis played 5 minutes and even with Norris and Finke sucking up time the Defense played great most of the night. Goes to show how bad Davis is on D and how much better they'd be if Welage took up some of Norria time

I hope the coaches will work on getting Davis and Finke their confidence in their shots back. It hurts when Finke goes inside and only looks to pass. He needs to work on scoop shots to draw fouls.

Keith, I agree with everything you said. I was the one who mentioned that fade away, opposed three point attempt by Calvin. It was our one shot at the end of the first OT where we had a chance to win as opposed to tying it. I can’t fault him, the dude is crazy good in the clutch. I just think the coaches should have told them to drive on our next offensive possession and draw a foul as we were in the bonus +? Seems like that would have provided more guys opportunities and higher percentage to end the game right then.

93, I think you are right.in that scenario with the clock running down penetration gives more options for scoring. Good point!!
