WSU ladies played a tremendous game today in a close loss to undefeated WVU. Led far more than trailed. Horrendously one sided officiating (FT attempts 38-14, plus several phantom travel calls), especially the first half. WVU was aggressively pressing full court, and for most the first half were just blantantly holding, with no calls. Then WSU would get touch fouls called continuously. I try hard not to complain about officiating, but this was as homer as it gets.
Really great game from Alexis Hutchinson with career high 37 points. Wright State had it tied with 2 1/2 minutes to go, and then the officials once again took over the game -- very frustrating to watch! If they keep playing and shooting like this, they will win a lot of league games.

Ladies hang a W on YSU tonight. At least one of them teams is pulling their weight this year... Yes and they are fun to waive. The play “man to man” and zone during a game.

The ladies have already matched their win total from last year (8). Lets add another one today against RMU and break it before New Years.
This team has the capability to be top 5 in the Horizon League, and will upset a couple of the teams in the top 4.

Good comeback win by the ladies, 80-77 in overtime. WSU was outscored each of the first 3 quarters, and trailed by 8 to 10 most of the second half. Strong fourth quarter, finally caught up with 2 minutes to go and forced overtime. Their largest lead in regulation was by 1. Also trailed the entire overtime, and finally took a one point lead with 16 seconds to go. After RMU missed, they had to foul to get WSU's largest lead of 3 as the final margin.
Layne Ferrell had a great game at both ends of the floor, 25 points with 8-12 from the floor, four made 3s, and 3 blocked shots.

Nice win by the ladies over IUPUI tonight. Hung in with defense in the first half when for a while they couldn't throw it in the ocean. Then dominated the 2nd half to go up by 20+. Final score 74-64, but it wasn't nearly that close. WSU had 11 total blocked shots, including 6 by Layne Ferrell.
Unfortunately. Makaya Miller went down with what looked like a serious knee injury in the 2nd qtr.

Quirky fact: WSU scored exactly 18 points in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th quarters, and exactly double that (36) in the 3rd qtr. NKU scored exactly 19 points in each of the first 3 quarters.
