For what it's worth, CollegeHoopsTop50 has a bit more favorable take on the Raiders.
With the return of Tanner Holden, we've got Wright State holding off Milwaukee for the Horizon with the star reintroduction of a hungry Tanner Holden and more diverse offensive attack. If you'd like to read a whole lot more about the Raiders, check out our full-length preview at Collegehoopstop50 dot com!

If you'd like to read a whole lot more about the Raiders, check out our full-length preview at Collegehoopstop50 dot com! Should probably do a little bit more basic research on our team. Tanner didn’t graduate from Ohio State in the spring (like you have in your article) so he isn’t a graduate student that is immediately eligible. He had to appeal to the NCAA and is waiting on a response to his waiver request. All the previous previews in this thread predicting the Raiders are going to finish 1st in the HL are assuming he is going to get a waiver from the NCAA or like you, had no idea he even needs one to play this year. The other HL predictions that has Wright State finishing lower are assuming Tanner’s waiver is getting denied.

Thanks for posting this. I was actually looking at the KenPom rankings earlier today. The gap between WSU & the next Horizon League team is massive. I think it underscores what many of us think in that the Horizon League isn't a great conference and this could be a truly great season for WSU.
If the big guys can stay healthy and if the team can gel I think that this will be a historic season. Let's see how it starts at Colorado State, vs Toledo and at Indiana. This may be the toughest three games to start a WSU season that I can remember.
Colorado State is picked 5th in the MWC official preseason poll. Toledo went 27-7 last year in the MAC. Indiana is picked 6th in the Big Ten by CBS.
26 days until tipoff & this is the most excited I've been for a WSU season in a long time.

If WSU finishes 4th I will be shocked. This team has potential to win the Horizon and give an NCAA tournament opponent trouble but things have to go the right way for the Raiders for the latter to happen. We are going to learn a lot in the first month of the season.
