Wait, 17-9 is a run rule?? Thought you had to be up by 10. It is a football score though, so sounds like good opponents for us in the tourney. Good catch. It was 17-9 and there was a two-run walk-off bomb to end the game at 19-9 in the 7th inning. x.com/11point7/status/1784334956719673563

Wright State 2 PFW 1
WSU 11 hits and a HR by Boston Smith. PFW 7 hits
This is the third straight game for the Raiders where the pitching staff gave up less than a hit an inning.
Pitching Chet Lax 4 IP 5 H 1 ER Cam Allen (W, 1-1) 4 IP Braydon Schoetzow (S, 3) 1 IP, 1 H
And.......RaiderGang now has an RPI of 147 which puts them in Quad3.
Next game is Friday at Oakland unless RaiderGang picks up a midweek game.

Excellent win by the pitching staff! Never thought this team would win a 2-1 game.
Raidergang ended the 6th inning with 8 total hits, yet no runs and down 1-0. How does that happen? Hit into 4 double plays, and get two more thrown out on the basepaths, and suddenly runs are tough to come by even with lots of hits.
Pinchhit 2 run HR by Boston Smith in the 7th provided our only runs, and Cam Allen and Brayden Schoetzow made a 1 run lead stand up.
Great pitching all weekend -- they say warmer weather helps the pitchers, and it sure seemed like it, but I think PFW being "offensively challenged" also played a part. Lets hope the staff can serve up another three strong performances against Oakland.

A year ago today, Jake Shirk threw a one-hitter to beat Oakland 2-0. Two years ago today, Shirk gave up just three hits against Oakland in 8 and a third innings in a 4-3 win. I wish we were playing Oakland today; I am sure Shirk would handle them. It looks like Shirk is getting on track with his pitching, like we expected. The Raider coaching staff is very good at developing pitching, so we can expect to see continued improvement. The team is getting healthy, just in time for the home stretch, drive.
We have 11 more reg season games.
My prediction is 8-3. Anyone have a different prediction?

If the pitching holds up like they did over the weekend this team can get hot right before the tournament and lock up first place. Iโm going say 8-3 also ๐บ

The team is getting healthier, and seems to have all the hurt infielders back playing. The defense looked much better this weekend. They may still need to get their timing back at the plate, and I think a couple pitchers are still hurt, but overall this team is trending the right direction.
The next 8 games are on the road, including at an ACC and an SEC team (Pitt and UK). I'll say 7-4, and hope your prediction is more accurate.

This team currently has 25 wins. Including HL tourney and possibly NCAAs, a 35 win season is certainly possible.

The Milwaukee Brewers just called up former Raider Tyler Black. That is four Raiders in MLB.

I thought this would be a good time to look at out-of-conference RPI ratings.
RaiderGang 149 Q3
Louisiana--53 Q2 Oklahoma--25 Q1 Miami--171 Q4 Memphis--188 Q4 Eastern Kentucky--264 Q4 Xavier--34 Q1 Toledo--221 Q4 Akron--257 Q4.......this was a bad loss when RaiderGang had a ton of injuries. Ohio State--62 Q2 Pittsburgh--97 Q2 Kentucky--3 Q1

Yesterday head coach Alex Sogard spoke with Mark Colley with the Toronto Star about Tyler Black's time as a Raider.

Oakland baseball coach Jordan Banfield had their outfield fence removed and pushed back 20 feet to potentially โlimitโ the amount of home runs in the series. Outfield grass, 10 feet of dirt (original warning track), 10 feet of grass, then the fence.

Oakland baseball coach Jordan Banfield had their outfield fence removed and pushed back 20 feet to potentially โlimitโ the amount of home runs in the series. Outfield grass, 10 feet of dirt (original warning track), 10 feet of grass, then the fence. That's a pretty sleazy move, unless its been that way all season. Didn't seem to work, as Raidergang hit leadoff HRs in the 1st, 2nd, and 9th. The pinch hit HR in the 9th by Drew Baker tied the game, and they got one more on a Sass single after a Gregory hit and Greenwell sacrifice bunt. Bullpen made it stand up to win 7-6. Jake Shirk pitched 7 innings, and was solid other than a 5 run 2nd. Garrett Peters gets the win in relief, and Cam Allen the save. Why aren't these games on ESPN+? NKU got run ruled by YSU, so Raidergang now has a 2 game lead in the HL standings.
