Looks like we are getting the last shot. Cannot imagine anyone but Calvin takes it. That was the problem. Everyone knew who was going to take it and he put up a bad shot vs a double team. Someone was wide open and Trey never looked for him. |

I obviously wasn’t happy with the final score of the game but I was much happier with our game play. Our offense was much more balanced. We had 4 guys in double digits. We got good production from our bench. The defense was much better than last week. The TOs killed us. I didn’t like the way the last play was set up for Trey. I don’t a problem with him taking the last shot but he has to have options in case he cannot get off a good shot. Alex needs to start playing like the upperclassman he is or his minutes need to start going to an underclassman that is contributing more. I keep hearing how well he played in the preseason and how well he shoots at practice. If he cannot produce in games none of that matters.

Rough start to the year and wish we would have gotten that game. Game 1 was bad all around defensively, but this was much better. I think Alex will be fine moving forward, yesterday was just a tough matchup for him with the quick guards on Toledo. Logan Woods looked really good with some of those matchups and that’s something we’ve missed the last couple of years.
Might not be the record we want after two games, but they’ll get better as the season progresses and they’ll compete for the Horizon League, which is ultimately what matters.

That is not what matters unless we just want to be a play in game type low major program. We have to start doing better in OOC games if we are ever going to get a good NCAA seed and a chance to advance in the tournament. |

Not sure that’s ever going to happen even if we went undefeated in OOC because of the league we’re in. Can’t see an at large bud coming to a horizon team. What is unfortunate is losing these games ensures we end up with a 15 or 16 seed if we do get it. That we can definitely be frustrated with. |

Didn’t say anything about an at large bid. That isn’t realistic coming from our conference or with our OOC SOS. Getting a 12-14 seed is realistic if we had the type of season this team should have been capable of. We have already wasted 2 opportunities for quality wins. We need to turn it around quickly.
