Wright State was very impressive for the first quarter of their game last Friday and even had an 11 point lead. I think they just ran out of gas after that fast start. If you have ever been to Colorado, the altitude is crippling. You can be in great shape here in Ohio, but just try walking a few hills out there and you will be bent over gasping for air after a few minutes of mild exertion. Looking back, perhaps Nagy could have subbed more or used a few timeouts to give the guys a break, but anyone can armchair quarterback. The defense looked terrible, the Raider starters looked very slow. That said, the freshmen looked very quick and played with a lot of energy. This team should go ten to twelve deep to keep the players fresh and wear the enemy out. Go Raiders!!!

10 to 12 deep? We've all been begging Nagy to use more players the last several years, but more often than not it's been a core 7 or 8, with a couple of those only seeing 8-10 minutes a game. No way are we going to see 10 guys getting regular (non garbage time) playing time.
Agree completely that the offense needs to be more than just 2 guys. Hubrigste and Wellage were almost invisible, and the freshman were either taking/missing bad shots or turning the ball over. AJ and Brandon were not bad, but we weren't getting the ball into them much.
With the defensive effort, it wouldn't have mattered what we did on offense, we were still going to lose handily. Hopefully tomorrow we will see a renewed commitment to the defensive end, but based on what we saw against CSU, I'm not optimistic.
