Giving up 50 points for the game vs 50 for the 2nd half is what we need to see more of. Though I'm not sure how much credit goes to our defense versus Illinois State being a bad offensive team that was playing their third game in 3 days and thus had a particularly bad shooting night. Still, this is a big improvement and good momentum going into the first league game next week.

Nice to see that 9 players were seeing meaningful minutes in all 3 games. Let's hope that trend continues so our starters are not worn down late in the year. I respect everything Coach Nagy is about, but the unwillingness to let more than 7 players play even a few minutes or earn his trust has been frustrating to watch the last few years. It has also hurt us when we encountered injuries to the core group and the "next man up" has no meaningful experience to call upon.

Sights and Sounds at Hertz Arena
*Illinois State probably had the most fans in Estero for the games with the Raiders right behind them.
*The Ft. Myers area is a great place for a tournament for Wright State. It is easy to get there by car or plane, it is a desirable destination, and it is not an overly expensive area to visit. There are plenty of dining options in the lower to mid-range pricewise and no tobacco tax on cigars. Beaches never hurt either.
*Wright State AD Bob Grant was highly visible at the tournament. He did a nice job of getting around to talk to a lot of the WSU fans.
*I had some locals comment to me that they were seeing Wright State gear on the beach, in restaurants and in downtown Ft. Myers. Never hurts to get our school's name out there.
*WSU President Sue Edwards was there and very visible. That is a good thing, and I don't recall seeing a president travel to games very much. I have seen her on the road several times. WSU VP Bill Shepard was also there.
