Allowing Detroit to shoot 60% and 52% from 3 is pretty sickening, even when it is not surprising. Detroit had the 17th-worst offense in terms of points per possession. Tonight they averaged 1.31
Thankfully WSU hit a few clutch shots down the stretch, especially after Calvin fouled out. KK Brown showed some flashes. Detroit only had 14 rebounds to WSU's 33. 14 is the fewest WSU had allowed in a game in the last 10 seasons.

Evaluation of the Raiders ongoing "to do" list:
Stop getting killed on the glass: Check, WSU outrebounds UDM 33 to 14.
Get some bench scoring: Check, 30 points off the bench -- 18 if you still consider Tanner a starter rather than Drey, even if Tanner didn't actually start).
Get a big lead so we can play the bench more: Check, up 18 at the half, and the 3 freshman played 12, 14, and 16 minutes.
Continue to score efficiently at a prolific rate: Check, 58.5% shooting, 41% from 3, 89% from the line, and 92 points.
Stop giving up 50+ points in the 2nd half: Aaaaarrrrgggg, this team is so frustrating to watch....

Holden and Calvin have proven that they are the only two players that should be handling the ball at crunch time. Keep forgetting that Noel is only in his second year of college ball, maybe that is why he seems to make poor decisions when the game is on the line. Oh well, good to get a win, WSU is all alone in fourth place, and a win against Oakland would put them in a tie at 10 - 5. A win against Oakland will be big to solidify a top four finish. Too bad James Manns didn't have one more year of eligibility, he would have been great on this high scoring, no defense team.

What was a disturbing pattern or tendency has officially become the norm. The number of bad turnovers by this team is insane...just really BAD turnovers...and most-often by our best players.
AJ Braun simply puts the basketball in the hoop...yet often sits for crazy-long stretches...even when we have trouble scoring. He could have had 30 last night if they fed him. Detroit didn't have a player that could stop him...so obvious.
I'm done with the 'discipline' of not starting Holden. He's been a major disappointment to me thus far, but just stop with the BS games. Start him and also play Carter...split those particular 40 minutes on the lines of 25/15...no more than 30/10 as Carter can also play WITH Holden.
Logan Woods and Kaden Brown have proven that they are quite capable and are NOT defensive liabilities...Brown doesn't get punked like Calvin defensively...Brown had (3) ally-oop passes last night for dunks. When was the last time our PG had ONE of those passes? I see no reason why Woods can't keep Alex' minutes at/under 30...he's a better defender, but not as good a scorer. I'm afraid Alex is going to wear down and there goes that scoring threat.
I really can't wrap my mind around Noel's play this season. He seems like a completely different player than last year...and I'm not saying that in a bad way...and not really in a better way either. His energy last year seemed higher and he was seemingly flying around all over the place...and in a good way. It looks like he's not sure where he fits. He's a terrific player but we don't seem to be able to really get him involved.
We are 2/3 through the year and look like a team that STILL hasn't figured it out yet.
Lastly, Nagy needs to work in some substitutions such that in the last (5) minutes of the game, we don't have (4)-(5) guys on the court who haven't had a break either in the entire half or most of the half. It's not about wearing a guy out in A game...it's about a string of games and a season. We get into those last (5) minutes...the guys are tired...and Nagy feels like he CAN'T sub them out. It's like Groundhog Day at times.

My brother was curious about what an 0-24 team looked like, apparently not super bad, they kept it close! Boy what happened to Mike Davis coaching/recruiting capabilities?

Davis can still coach. Good article in the Detroit paper (link on the UDM message board) about why they can't recruit -- basically old dumpy facilities, old dumpy dorms, no NIL money, and playing in front of crowds less than what they had in high school.

And a coach that spent four years more worried about making his son look good than he was about winning games or moving the program forward.

My wife noticed during warmups that there is a Davis on their team, and wondered if it was another son. We quickly agreed it couldn't possibly be, as he only played 8 minutes and didn't shoot at all.
