I know it's Kentucky but the defense so far is the opposite of what I was hoping to see.

Yes, let's not base our opinions about the entire season on the performance in the first few minutes of this particular game... although I can't necessarily disagree with first impressions!

We had some decent looks but can't knock it down. Idk who will step up on this team. Again UK but we look pretty loss on both sides of the ball.

That shot clock violation was a good defensive possession. Hopefully WSU can force more of those.

Alex looks good, glad to see that. Some good moments from Noel which is not surprising.

I hate to keep hammering the kid but it’s a reality, Norris is not a D1 starting pg. Callahan checked in with about 8 mins left in the half and immediately drove to the basket for a smooth easy layup. He needs the minutes/experience now! He will be a huge upgrade next year, assuming Norris keeps his spot all year. Lastly, I’m pretty sure Andrew Welage is being held hostage by the coaching staff, he looks tired and mentally checked out and it looked like that for the last half of last season as well. If he makes his first shot he can get hot but if not, he won’t contribute anything at all. Let’s bounce back after tonight boys.

Logan Woods looks pretty bad too tbh Atrocious. Lot of nerves tonight. Nobody on this squad has ever been the man before. Hub has to an extent, and it’s showing. He is the one bright spot so far for me.

I agree. And agree with your thoughts on Alex. I thought 51 was playing okay. Not any worse then anyone else. At least Clint played him some. Progress!

There isn’t one player in green and gold that can compete at this level. Just totally overmatched. I know we get big bucks for this but it is pretty embarrassing to lose by 40 points . I have always advocated scheduling “up”, but not if we are going to present ourselves like this.

Unfortunately I think that is a serious injury for Callaghan

After observing that game, it actually seems crazy not to bench Norris and hand over the keys to Solomon. Life is tough, at least Norris only has to experience that reality from the perspective of a D1 Athlete. Reality is that he is at a physical disadvantage and is lucky that his brother was good enough to convince coaches to gamble on him. Hate to say it but it is what it is and its not the end of the world for him. Please play the best players.
