After observing that game, it actually seems crazy not to bench Norris and hand over the keys to Solomon. Life is tough, at least Norris only has to experience that reality from the perspective of a D1 Athlete. Reality is that he is at a physical disadvantage and is lucky that his brother was good enough to convince coaches to gamble on him. Hate to say it but it is what it is and its not the end of the world for him. Please play the best players. I don't think Norris made one shot. Hide is 20/20 but I wish Norris played more. I think that was an ACL tear for Callaghan. Meant pretty nothing playing him after just seeing how he compares to Norris. Hopefully it's not a tear and everyone can heal and move on.

If Norris couldn’t dribble around quickly he’d be like you or me out there. Big D might put up a bucket for gods sake. Not a good sign, hope the rookie is ok.

I know it’s UK but wow what an absolute embarrassment that game was. Did not give me any hope for the coming season whatsoever.

Boy that was a whooping! I expected Wright State to lose by 20-30, but losing by over 40 seems like another level, that you literally can't compete with Top 25 teams. Got to give the new Coach and Roster some time, but not a good start of course.

I really hate the scheduling of opponents where the athletic ability is so disparate that we get nothing out of the game. We learned absolutely nothing by blasting Wilmington, and now nothing from getting waxed by UK. Tonight everyone except Alex was so intimidated and rushing their shots that we could barely hit the rim even when we did get good shots. Next up is Ohio Christian and that should also be a nothing learned game.
I understand the economics say we have to go get blasted somewhere just to receive a check, but surely there are teams that would provide that check who are not at the level of UK, or Purdue a few years back. Best case for those games is you get some cash and the team doesn't lose all confidence. Worst case is the Stephen Davis injury at An OSU, and hopefully tonight with Solomon we didn't get a repeat of that outcome. These games don't learn much about where our defense really is, because after tonight we won't be playing teams where their 7 footer can dribble drive better than anyone on our team, and every opposing player is quicker, more athletic, and 6 to 8 inches longer.
At least Nagy was able to schedule some buy games where we had a chance (Ga Tech, Louisville, IU) to balance out those we didn't (Purdue w/ Zach Edie)

I think Kentucky, the new Coach, fan base were hungry to win this game in a dominating fashion too so I give them some credit. Not the easiest atmosphere to come in for the Raiders. I think it's a little discouraging though as Kentucky basically created a whole new roster from transfers as most teams are doing, and it seems Mid Majors like WSU literally can't compete with them.
I was at the Atheletes in Action tip off in Xenia tonight which was pretty cool...and Florida Atlantic dominated Indiana State, so Wright State not the only team getting whooped on opening night. FAU looked like a Top 25 team, and Indiana State is not bad, but just couldn't compete with FAU's talent overall. You look at FAU though and they have a 6"11 transfer from Florida State, transfer Guards from Jackson State and Eastern Kentucky who I believe both averaged over 15ppg.
FAU did go to the Final Four a few years ago...but it seems the gap between the haves and have nots is kind of expanding even at the Mid Major levels.
I hope Callaghan is not hurt. For the Raiders you just hope they can grow this year, and show potential for the future, that they aren't going to go back to the kind of irrelevant years they've had in the early 2000s it seemed.

There isn’t one player in green and gold that can compete at this level. Just totally overmatched. The truth is if we had any players who could compete at that level, they would be at WSU for one year at most, then leave for the NIL money. This is the sad reality of college basketball now. With no limits on cash payments and virtually unlimited transfers, the smaller schools will never be able to compete with the big dogs unless those smaller schools have a billionaire booster, and even then it would be tough. UK and their brethren, on the other hand, can survive not having a single returning player and still go get a top 20 roster in one offseason.

Any update on Callaghan's injury? Most likely a calf sprain. He will probably sit out tonight. Didn't sound serious.
