Our attendence numbers are misleading because of the 2 FREE TICKET games. With out those games our attendance is much lower.
I'd hate to see our paid attendance figures.

The Free tickets giveaways to students is a common practice with all schools on our level and most of the bigger schools.
The only help our attendance figures have received in the last two years are through 2 games sponsored by the Alumni Association.
On the other hand, we have "benefited" greatly from a special bonehead decision to raise season ticket prices again last year when the attendance has been on a decline for 10 straight years. I know a number of former season ticket holders, who have attended but a few games because they have elected not to renew. When questioned and prompted, the administration did not seem very concerned, or maybe it was a marketing plot to appear happy and satisfied no matter what.

Raiderette, the 2 free ticket games I was refering to was the 2 Big D mentioned. With out the Alumni free ticket giveaway and the DDN offer our attendance would be much lower. If memory serves me right we had almost 9,000 for the Alumni free ticket giveaway against Miami. I think they scew the numbers.
You're right about student tickets being free at most Universities.
