I got my season ticket renewal in the mail today. I was disappointed to see that they added $250 for premium seats. Season tickets are going to be almost $30 a game this season.
I am alittle bit beyond frustrated with the way WSU has treated season ticket holders the last few years. As attendance has declined, they keep jacking up prices and add on these "donations" to the fans that have stayed loyal.

I sympathize with your frustrations. It has become harder and harder for me to justify the expense of season tickets to my wife. What makes it even worse is when we give aways tickets for games. At least we get an all sports pass with our season tickets this year. She likes to go to soccer and volleyball games.

I would give up the season tickets if I were you guys. I take advantage of the alumni ticket give aways, 2 for 1 ticket offers from the newspaper, the entertainment book coupon, and $6 tickets in the family fun zone. I see all of the games for what you guys pay to see 3.

I am frustrated about the cost, but I am not willing to give up my season tickets yet. I just wish WSU would show some appreciation to the fans that have been here all along, rather than bleed us dry.

My wife would be more than willing to follow your suggestion. I plan on keeping our tickets if my wife doesn't veto my vote. At least the donation is tax deductible.

My family gave up our premium seats over 3 years ago. The cost became to prohibitive especially when you consider how many people don't pay near what you guys pay.
Thier is no way I would pay almost $30 to see the Raiders play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because of the price we went from 6 season tickets in 02 down to just 2 season tickets last year. We use to bring friends during the week, on school nights when our kids couldn't go, but now they priced us right out of 4 tickets.
I will give them credit for the Family Fun Zone. Since they started that promotion we can now bring our whole family on the weekends. Pretty simple uh! Make tickets affordable and more tickets are sold!
Question: Are you better off selling 4,500 tickets at $15 a piece or 7,000 at $10? Keep in mind that this doesn't even take into account the concessions.
4,500 X 15 = $67,500 7,000 X 10 = $70,000
Not only can they generate more income but could you imagine almost doubling the fans! Talk about a great environment!
I am convinced that they have priced themselves right out of the market. Serously, who is going to pay $15 to see WSU play unless you are hardcore fans like us. A casual basketball fan won't. Think about this, on the "freebie" game they draw over 9,000 fans so that show that folks are interested in see the Raiders but they aren't willing to come back to see them play at the current price.
I feel bad for the Premuim Seat holders. I think they are being taken advantage of big time.

The Premium seats below the rail have had the $250 fee for at least the last 3 years. I know, because I've paid it in the past. I really don't know if I will do it again this year. We have great seats, but it is getting harder and harder to justify paying this kind of money when other people pay 6 bucks for a game and end up sitting in the same row with me.

My seats are not below the rail at the Nutter Center and I am pretty sure this is the first year I had to pay the $250 donation. I told my wife about the ticket increase this past weekend and she wasn't too happy. I don't remember her ripping me a new one when we discussed the cost of ticket last summer like she did this past weekend.
The good news is I plan on keeping my tickets this season. The bad news is I'm probably going to sleep on the couch for a few night.
The price I pay to be a Riader fan.

Big D, I have the renewal form in front of me and the Premium fee for both Level 1 (Rows AA,BB, 1-6) below the rail and Level 2 (Row 7 & Above) above the rail have not changed over the last 2 or 3 years. The $250 per seat fee applies to Level 1 and a $150 per seat fee for Level 2.

BBJ, This was the first year that a $250 donation was added to my seats and I found out today it was done in error. My wife called the Nutter Center box office today and my tickets are not subject to an additional donation. I have had season tickets since WSU played in the old PE building. Anyone that was part of the Pacesetter lifetime plan from back then does not have to pay an additional donation each year at the Nutter Center.
