If true, this is a huge blow for Detroit. Detroit was expecting him to step in and replace James Thues. They already lost Ryvon Covile for the year due to a knee injury.

It's official, Bell is out for the year after having surgery to repair a ruptured achilles tendon. He tore it while bowling.

How in the world did he tear his achilles tendon bowling? This will be a major blow to Detroit. They were already thin at guard before Bell got hurt.

The injury wasn't new from bowling, it was reinjuring a previous achilles injury that he had just had surgery for, and in Brandon's own words he said he tried to walk on it too soon without crutches, and reinjured it. He then had a second surgery and is now out for this year, but will partition the NCAA for an extra year for medical reasons in the future.
