Ball State's Tim Buckley Out as Head Basketball Coach March 15, 2006, 01:26 PM EST Tim Buckley 24-Hour News 8 has learned that Ball State Coach Tim Buckley has been reassigned and will no longer hold the position as head men's basketball coach. Buckley just completed his sixth season as coach. Ball State says he has been reassigned to University Development effective Monday, March 20. Also, with the reassignment of Buckley, the contracts for Ball State's three full-time assistant coaches, Steve Lynch, Jay Bryant and Jamall Walker, will also end Monday. Ball State Athletic Director Tom Collins called it an "extremely difficult decision. Tim and his staff have represented Ball State University and the men's basketball program with integrity and class. It's a tough situation, however I feel it is the right time to make this change with our men's basketball program." In his six seasons, Buckley compiled an overall record of 143-139. His teams were 89-81 in Mid-American Conference play. The Cardinals have a 10-18 record this year. Collins will hold a press conference at 3:00 pm to make the announcement. www.wishtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=4635810

Tough break for Buckley and I mean that literally. If Peyton Stovall didn't blow out his ACL against WSU earlier this year Ball State would have had a solid year and saved his job.

I always enjoyed the style of basketball Ball State played.

If I'm Cusak I'd add Buckley to the list of potential coaches.
