With 6 scholarships available, what do you think our recruiting priorities should be for next year?

We need everything. I hope we add some more size and some more shooters.

Based on on roster for next year, I hope we bring in 2 post players, 1 point guard, and 3 shooting guards/wings. It would also really help balance out our classes if 1 of the post players and 1 of the guards were JUCOs.
Post players: We have 2 true post players. Jordan Pleiman will be a senior and Ronnie Thomas will be a red-shirt sophomore. If we can add a JUCO and prep post player we will be 2 deep at power forward and center and have a post player in each class.
Shooting guards/Wings: We have 3 wing players returning. Scottie Wilson will be a senior. Todd Brown and Vaughn Duggins will be sophomores. It would be nice to bring in 1 JUCO (Mike Hall?) and 2 prep players for these positions to balance out the classes and add some more 3 point shooters.
Point guards: We return 2 point guards next year. William Graham will be a junior and Eric Stevenson will be a sophomore. We will be adding 1 more point guard.
If we bring in 2 JUCOs and 4 prep players, like I am predicting, our classes will consist of: 2 seniors, 3 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 4 freshmen.

I agree we need to add a few big bodies for the paint. I am getting nervous that I haven't seen WSU mentioned with any post players yet.

With 6 scholarships to give, I hope we can sign 3-4 recruits in the early signing period. I don't want to have to worry about our future all season long. I trust Coach Brownell will address our needs. He hasn't averaged over 20 wins a year for nothing.

We really need to add some size for next year. I'm really regretting that we were not able to keep Dan Penick after Biancardi left. We could have used his size this year.

I don't know how much Penick would have helped us. I saw him play in the Ohio/Kentucky all-star game and was not very impressed. He was a legit 6-8 and 230 pounds, but he played like a 6-4 small forward.

Penick was signed based on his potential. He has good size and he is pretty athletic. He needs to be coached up quite a bit if you want him to play under the basket in college. He doesn't have great boxing out skills and he doesn't have posts moves. In high school he stuck around the three point line alot.
With some good coaching and hard work on his part, I think he could be a pretty good post player. But WSU97 is right, he wouldn't have helped us much this year in the paint.

Does anyone know if Darryl Garrett signed with anyone? He is the shooting guard from Schoolcraft Junior College that Coach Townsend recruited to Eastern Michigan. His Rival's site hasn't been updated to show that he signed with anyone and I haven't been able to locate anything on him on the internet. It's a longshot, but it would be nice to hear about a couple of additions to the team next week when classes start. jucojunction.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=44001&Sport=2
