I've got the answer to your sponsorship problem and a way to get UD on the schedule on a regular basis, but I doubt many people will like it. We can co-host a tournament with UD, calling it something like the Gem City Classic or the Wright Brother's Classic. It could be a 8 team tournament with 4 games played each night. 1/2 the games would be played at the Nutter Center and 1/2 at UD Arena each night. You can have a winners and losers bracket so all 8 teams get to play 4 games that ony count as one against their schedule. It will never happen, but I think it is a decent idea. That's a really cool idea. The baseball team a WSU/UD Tournament scheduled, and it had two other teams playing (Valparaiso and Eastern Michigan). Valpo would have played one game at Wright State and two at Dayton (and vica versa for EMU). The last game was Wright State at Dayton. It would have been great, except the weather wasn't so great and Nischwitz Stadium was flooded. It can be done.

mdg89 is reporting over on RRB that we have a national televised game on FOX Sports with Wake Forest in Winston Salem.
This is a big coup for our program!

It will be an even bigger coup when we win this game. I’ll take a guarantee game with somebody like Wake Forest instead of Dayton anytime. This is a great addition to the schedule. I can't wait for the rest of the schedule to be announced. Raider fans should be pleased from what I hear.

I like it too. We now have 2 BCS programs on the schedule in Wake Forest and South Florida. I think both games are winnable.

I really like the way the schedule is shaping up as well. We play several really good teams and those games are games we should have a chance at winning. We play most of our away non-conference games in December. I love that. I hated playing so many of our good games in December the last few years when our students were out on break. Attendance should be up this year.

Against the rebuilding Wake program, I think we might be able to hang in there. This is going to be a very good Wright State team this year my friends. And you know Brownell will be fired up going back to North Carolina. Wake Forest was a young team much like WSU was last year. They return 8 out of their top 9 players from last year. James Johnson (6-8, PF) 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds Jeff Teague (6-2, SG) 13.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists L.D. Williams (6-4, SG) 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds Ishmael Smith (6-0, PG) 8.6 points, 4.7 assists Chas McFarland (7-0, C) 8.4 points, 5.8 rebounds Jamie Skeen (6-8, PF) 5.6 points, 4.1 rebounds David Weaver (6-10, F/C) 2.7 points, 2.6 rebounds Gary Clark (6-4, SG) 2.6 points

Thanks for the update Klinger. It looks like we are trying to make a move to the MAC with all of the games we are playing against them.

If the BG game is a go, we should only have 1-2 games left. So far, I really like the schedule. I hope we start a series with at least one more quality mid-major.

Bowling Green isn't a great game, but I'll take it. It is very winnable. They were 13-17 last year and had an RPI of 200. Wake Forest is a great addition and pleasant surprise. It's hard to pass down a Nationally televised game.

If we have 1 or 2 games left to schedule, is it possible to get a game with Saint Joseph's or George Washington of the A-10? Those two teams are usually pretty good. I know both of the teams have smaller arenas so they have a hard time getting quality teams do a home and home series. Another idea I have heard on this forum (I am not sure who's idea it was originally), is to get a home and home series with Air Force. I think that would attract a lot of the people from Wright-Patt.
