We still aren't done recruiting for this class yet, but I do agree we need to upgrade the overall talent level. All good teams have a balance of stars and role players. We need to make sure we have enough stars on our roster in 2 years.

I think the thing thats alarming to me is that Brownell has continued to prove that he is not a great recruiter. He has won here and at UNCW with other guys players. If you look at UNCW's current roster there isn't 1 player left from the Brownell era. We have the best facilities and fan base in the league and were trying to out recruit players from Western Carolina, Eastern Illinois or players who don't even have any other D1 offers.

You might want to check your facts before you post next time. Most of our recruits had at least MAC or other HL offers. We have a few players that even had a Big 10 offer.

Do you really think that Troy Tabler would be playing for Penn State in the Big 10? He can't defend 1 player on any team we've played.

Tyler Koch had a Michigan offer too.

Tabler would have red-shirted as a freshman at Penn State. He would be a three point specialist coming off the bench this year for Penn State.

Thats what I'm saying. Tabler came here instead of school like Penn State so he could play more than 3 minutes a game for his career. Why do you think Matt Howard is at Butler and not Indiana or Purdue. He wouldn't be able to matchup night in night out in the Big 10.

He could play anywhere in the country.

There is not a chance in hell Howard would be half the player he is at Butler if he were at Indiana or Purdue. He would get nowhere near the minutes he gets at Butler. He's to undersized and not athletic enough to play at that level. Valpo just got a 5 star recruit who couldn't cut it at UNLV. I guess he could play anywhere too?

Matt Howard would be playing power forward in the Big 10 instead of center and yes, he would be starting. Take off your green and gold glasses.

Matt Howard has played 2 games vs the Big 10 this year. He went for 17 points and 6 boards vs Northwestern and 10 points and 11 rebounds vs OSU. You are crazy if you don't think he can play at that level.

We can argue about this all day I guess but at the end of the day we must improve our talent level. To me having an offer from a Big 10 school doesn't make you a Big 10 level player. Look at Mickey Perry. Went from Wisconsin to Dayton and hardly plays for them. We have the best facilities and fans in the league without a doubt in my mind, but our quality of recruits under Brownell aren't up to par with what we have to offer.

I'll keep rooting for the one we have.

We are playing without our top player and holding our own. Take away any other teams top player and see how bad they look. Our talent is OK. It can always get better and I hope it does. We aren't going to compete with Butler for recruits any time soon. They have 2 decades of NCAA success we have to compete against. Good facilities are no match for multiple trips to the Sweet 16.
