Right, and the same reasoning applies. Not that Alabama or Auburn are going to be as good as Wake Forest, but it's still a game that will most likely help our RPI and make us some cash. We're not going to turn down that opportunity. Neither Alamaba or Auburn were great teams last year and neither do much for our RPI. Auburn was the better of the 2 and they were 21-11 with an RPI of 64. Alabama was worse than us. they were 16-14, with an RPI of 108. Unless we get some TV time from playing them, neither team is worthy of a buy game. We'd be better served to play a buy game at UD. (never going to happen) They had an RPI of 27 last year.

2009-2010 WASHINGTON SCHEDULE11/13/09 vs. Wright State, Belmont vs. Portland State 11/14/09 vs. Belmont, Portland State vs. Wright State 11/15/09 vs Portland St, Belmont vs. Wright State It's too bad we open the AIA tournament against Washington. It would have been nice to get a game or 2 under our belt to knock some of the rust off before we play Washington.

Or it could be a good draw for us. Washington won't have a scouting report on us. They will have some film on us from last year, but we won't look anything like last year with JD and Vaughn back in the line up.

I agree. I think the first game might benefit us. They will be just as rusty and i think with VD working hard to get back he will be in mid season form at the begining of the year.

Are we playing Maryland Eastern Shore? Klinger listed it as one of our home games on rrb.

I haven't heard that we are playing Maryland Eastern Shore. That is very disappointing if true. They are the worst team in one of the worst conferences in the country. They will be an RPI killer for us.

Our home schedule sucks next year. Not going to attract many casual fans with the likes of Central Michigan, Sam Houston State, Arkansas-Little Rock, and Maryland Eastern Shore.

We still have one more home game to announce, but I agree with you that we are going to have a hard time attracting casual fans. Central Michigan and Maryland Eastern Shore just plain suck. Sam Houston State and Arkansas-Little Rock are decent teams, but neither has any real name recognition.

With Washington just releasing their schedule, I thought it would be interesting to see what their fans thought of their schedule. Apparently we are not highly thought of by their fans. As they do not seem to enthused with the OOC teams they are playing. My guess is that they know little about us (or Belmont for that matter) as this opening AIA tourney looks to be a pretty competitive tourney with quality teams. With UW at home they will undoubtly be the favorite, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop at least one of the first 3 games at home. Hopefully it will be their first game to us. Fear not, we never attract many casual fans anyway. We averaged 5,381 fans a game last year. Less than 1,800 were season ticket holders. So over 60% of our fanbase is made up of casual fans.

The reason Washington's fanbase isn't happy is the same reason we aren't happy with everyone on our schedule -- Name recognition. No one out in Washington knows who the heck Wright state is. Just like most of our fans know very little about the teams on our home schedule. Name recognition is very important if you want to get people out to the arena.
