its a good thing the bracket buster is at home this year. We're really going to need to draw a good opponent to ensure one solid gate other than the Butler game We were at home for last year's Bracket Buster's game. We should be on the road this year.

We have Mike Winiecki as the contact person for scheduling for 2009/10 and Scott Woods as the contact person for 2010/11? Anyone know why? Scott did most of the initial contacts for our schedule last year too. I think they are just trying to clear up some time for Mike to hit the recruiting trail during the summer, then he takes over in the fall.

We might have a home game again. I remember Butler hosted Bracket Buster games 2 years in a row. I guess we will find out for sure when the schedule is released.

actually I forgot we were at home last year - you're right we probably are on the road this year unless we can pull some strings somehow.

We have now posted on basketballtravelers.com for the 2010-2011 season (asking for multiple home and home series). Can that be taken as a sign that this year's schedule is now complete and we're turning our attention toward building next year's schedule? Nope. Our 2009 ad was just updated today. We are still looking for 1 game.

Thats dumb. If UD were a BCS school i say we should think about a 2 for 1. But they are not so we should not even consider a 2 for 1

bbj, below is an email i sent to brian kollars about his really dumb comments. his response was pretty much, thanks for reading. i just don't think he gets it. GO RAIDERS!!!!!!1
Brian, I mean no disrespect, but your idea about the Raiders doing a 2/1 with UD is the dumbest idea I have heard in a long time. Comparing that to the Miami/UC is ridiculous, compares apples to oranges. Miami is a mid major program from the 18th ranked conference according to the Sagarin. UC is a BCS program from the Big East. The Raiders are a mid major from the 11th ranked Sagarin conference and UD is a mid major from the 9th ranked Sagarin conference. Why should the Raiders do a 2 for 1 with a program that is on a similar level to them. Please don't confuse attendance and fan base with quality of the team on the court. So, imho, you cranked out one of the all time goofiest ideas. No offense meant of course. Keith Lakes

I don't think UD is worth talking about. We aren't going to be playing them anytime soon and I really don't care that we aren't. I don't buy the "we are only 10 minutes away from them" argument as to why we should be playing them. If High Point moved their university to Huber Heights I sure in the hell wouldn't want to add them to our schedule just because they are 10 minutes away from us. We should be focusing on playing the best nonconference schedule we can against teams that will play us home/home. Screw the teams that won't schedule us.

The information below is from basketballtravelers.com. This might be an interesting possibility if we're still shopping for a game.
Mississippi State posted yesterday: "We also need 1 game on Dec. 1/2 or Dec. 15/16 at our place. This game can be a guarantee, a 2 year H/H series or a 2-for-1. ESPN will televise a Dec. 16 game with the right opponent."
Wright State's "current" posting reads: "Could go on the road DEC 16th to start a H/H, but really need to start H/H series @ Wright St. Dates available afternoon of 11/22, possibly Dec. 10, Dec. 16/17th or Jan. 19th."
I realize that getting a H/H might be a bit hopeful but it is getting late in the scheduling game and they did play at St. Bonaventure last year (not sure what kind of agreement that was). I'd rather see us schedule this game than settle for a RPI killer just to get another home game this season.
Go Raiders!

Mississippi State might be holding out for a higher rated team than us since it might be a TV game for them or we might be haggling over it being a home/home series or a 2 for 1 series. It would be a great game if we could get it to happen for us.
