I agree that the dance would be more embarrassing than productive. However I think we're closer to a solution than people might think. We've embraced the whole "Raider UP' thing correct? Well its not exactly original (Boiler up @ Purdue). What would be wrong with doing something that plays into this type of situation. Students could sit, and softly say "raider up!"(Clap-clap).."raider-up" (clap-clap)...as some music piping through the speakers gets louder....they start to stand up and do the same. "Raider-UP" (clap-clap) Raider-UP" (clap-clap) As the music gets EVEN LOUDER they start to JUMP up as they YELL "RAIDER-UP"(clap-clap) "RAIDER-UP" (clap-clap) untill just wild music blares, intense Raider-up graphics play on our new scoreboard and Loud Screaming and jumping ensues....that sounds more like something that could evolve into a Nutt-house wide hysteria. I'm not saying it works, or if its even a good idea, but lets find some solutions if this is the direction they want to go. Something like this is actually a really good idea. 100% better then this spark dance.

^ might be on to something there. Splice in part of the Isley Brothers "shout" somehow perhaps... (a little bit softer now...little bit softer now....little bit louder now...little bit louder now.....)
Its a start anyway, that's for sure. More ideas the better.

It certainly ties in more with WSU which we need to make that connection with our students stronger. I like it and I don't see "Raider Up" going away anytime soon.
I kinda got stumped looking for a song as good as UNI's because that song just fits perfectly with their motions and makes sense. (wether or not you enjoy that type of music, Interlude fits perfectly.)
I must have listened to 300 songs trying to match that and only found a few worthy candidates. I feel like this is a project to really put time into developing this spring and summer so we're prepared for semesters and a new start next season.

Whatever you Rowdies decide TBRF, just remember, it doesnt have to be 100% original. Just add a WSU twist, and then OWN it. Even UD's stupid "Goooo Dayton Drivers..." song is a copy off another university. I think we're on to something with the "raider up" slogan, and it can work. take the Isley brother song, and make it "Jump up and Howl now" put a re-mixed hip-hop feel behind the original and you've got it. Take Purdue's "Boiler-up", have a one night stand with the Isley brothers, then have an illegitamite WSU baby, and make it awesome!
Damn I'm smart! Muahaha! (JK) Bet then again, I did brainchild THE MANHOUSE antics. Great work guys. We solved the problem in 5 posts! haha

This is all very silly. We need to win, and that's it.

We need to continuously win over Miami. I've lived in Southwestern Ohio for all of my life (minus my years at WSU, I'm 24) and Miami, UC and UK are the big dogs around here. If we ever want to expand outside of the Dayton area, these are must win games. Some of us might say that expanding isn't important, but if we want to establish a presence outside of Dayton , these are must-wins.

No offense, but I think you are the only person here that is worried about our presence in Cincinnati. Miami is much closer to Cincinnati than Wright State and they don't get fans to come to Oxford from Cincinnati. It's an idiotic waste of time to worry about what anyone in Cincinnati thinks of Wright State. Wright State needs to focus on getting local fans and our own students to care about Wright State.

Miami a big dog in Cincinnati. Please. People in Cincinnati care about UC, X, UK, Louisville, and probably even IU more than they care about Miami. Northern Ky is about as popular as Miami.

Beating Miami is important for 3 reasons. -- We obviously want to win as many games as we can. --This is probably the last time we play Miami, at least in the near future. --We recruit many of the same kids Miami recruits.

I appreciate your input, however I wouldn't quite go as far as to say that it is an "idiotic" waste of time to worry about what anyone in Cincinnati thinks of Wright State. I live down here, so you might as well let me be concerned about the fanbase. For you to disregard any territorial fanbase, no matter what the number of fans (especially considering that we need as many fans as possible) certainly is an idiotic stance to take.

What a joke. 98% of the Cincinnati population still thinks that NKU is still a D II school, if they even take the time to think about it.

You are one of a very few WSU fans that live in Cincinnati. You care enough to post on 2 WSU message boards regularly, so I would consider you a die hard WSU fan. Even though you are a die hard, you rarely attend any WSU games. If we cannot even get a die hard alumni like you to attend games, why in the hell should we care about what anyone else in Cincinnati thinks about WSU? That is idiotic to me and probably to most people.
