DePaul is 1-1. They beat Grambling State 96-58 and lost to Southern Miss 75-68.

All the magazines I've seen for this season has them picked dead last in the Big East. This game can be won by the Raiders, but we'll still have to work hard and play at both ends of the court. This is a game DePaul will be hungary to put in their Win column.

I went on a little rant a few weeks ago about the type of teams we should be scheduling as a program. link I said we should be playing 1-2 buy games where we are bought to play a mid tier BCS program. I want the game to be televised and the opponent to be a team we can compete against. I don't want to be bought by Duke and get our ass kicked by 30 points. I want a team we could beat or at least look respectable against on TV. Georgetown was the type of BCS team I didn't want to play. They aren't Duke, but they are going to be a top 25 team by the end of the year and we didn't match up with them well at all. DePaul is the type of BCS team we should be targeting because we have a legit shot at beating them. I think they way we played Georgetown the final 30 minutes of the game is going to give this team some confidence going into the DePaul game.

I liked our offense vs. Georgetown, but our D was nowhere near up to Raider standards. We need to pick it up if we are going to win Saturday.

Agree with Big D. We're typically in no position to pull off a March-type upset this early in the season, but beating a team like DePaul will still turn heads locally, regionally, and those of some recruits. I think teams like Uc and DePaul are good games, especially if we can do a home and home with such schools.

DePaul looks to ReboundingAmong DePaul’s many problems last year was rebounding. The fact that coach Oliver Purnell added four new big men to the roster highlighted the deficiency – but length didn’t help the Blue Demons against a smaller Southern Miss team this week..... ....Melvin is expected to play Saturday when DePaul (1-1) hosts Wright State (1-1) in the next round of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic (1 p.m., FOX Sports Network, 670 AM). So is Wright State’s star forward, 6-8 senior Cole Darling, which could add to the Demons rebounding challenge. Darling missed the second half of last season because of an injury, and he missed this season’s opening game. He played only one minute in the Raiders’ 88-70 loss to Georgetown this week. Even without Darling, the Raiders went 23-13 last season, tying the program’s record for victories. Darling earned second team Horizon League honors last season despite his abbreviated season, and he was a pre-season first team selection for this year. The Raiders also are the pre-season favorites in their league after finishing a surprising third last year. Their success earned coach Billy Donlon the league’s coach of the year honor.... voices.suntimes.com/sports/depaul-looks-to-rebounding/

Is the game televised or is it streaming today? On our scheduling yes we should be playing someone like DePaul, Georgia, Northwestern or even Butler still if they would play us now.

Something nobody has mentioned regarding today's game...Now granted, Georgetown was on fire to start the game the other night, but we cannot put ourselves down 10 points by the first media timeout again...We seem to get out of playing our style of ball, and seem to always resort to chucking up ill-advised 3s from 28'. I don't think we're going to have any problem putting up enough points to win this game. Just hope our defense looks better this time around. I know quite a few people are going to the game, so we should be well represented...and I think the players are hungry to right the ship, and show well in this 'tournament', even though Depaul isn't the elitest of their conference, it's a power conference win, and like previously mentioned, should turn some heads, and hopefully bring out some more fans, and more students. Win or lose, I expect a tight game, probably less than a 5 point spread. Hopefully after 40 minutes, we have the larger number.

I have Dish. The game is live at 2 on channel 412-31. It's one of the alternative fox sports channels.
