We're going to be atrocious next year.

This game was a "pick-em" and Oakland blows us out on our own court.

Felder would be dumb to come back. He needs to go pro.

At least one-trick pony Max Pooper missed there.

Clear the bench now with 4:39 to go.

When is our 6'11" stickman center going to learn to make a lay up. Mitchell finishes.

When is our 6'11" stockman center going to learn to make a lay up. Mitchell finishes. How can Roderick Davis not be better than him? Jeez. Frustrating.

Gotta say...in all honesty...how the heck does this team lose at home to YSU and NKU.
Kampe has got it figured out. Maybe BD can take some notes on scheduling, recruiting, winning on the road...I could go on.

Roderick Davis is way down at the end of the bench. At least he would have dunked those gimmes.

I would have to think Oakland will win out. Valpo goes to the NIT.

This is a joke. Billy is getting out-coached like crazy. Billy didn't get out coached tonight. He lost this game before we ever set foot on the court. Oakland's coach has put together great recruiting classes the last few years mixing high school players with D1 transfers. They have great size, great athletes, and they can shoot. Billy isn't a great recruiter. I don't even think he is a good recruiter with the number of his recruits that don't see the court and the high number that transfer without contributing. No matter how this year turns out, we are in trouble moving forward. Valpo and Oakland are recruiting at a much higher level than us. Hell, if you look at the HL recruiting board you will see that UIC and NKU are out recruiting us.

I'm not sure they win out, but I give them the nod in the tournament playing at home basically...but Oakland lost once at home to Valpo already.
Will be interesting to see how the league shakes out down the stretch. I'll definitely be watching the showdown at the ARC this weekend.

This Oakland team seems to be kryptonite to Donlon's defensive philosophy. Without a defensive neutralizer like Kendall, Felder is free to shoot or penetrate the ball and pass off when the defense collapses around him. You can't play zone either, because of their perimeter shooters. I haven't watched Oakland in the games they have lost, so I wonder what worked for those teams that beat Oakland?

Good point, but don't forget that another reason that UIC, UDM and OU give us fits is because they have a stretch 4 (Hayes, Dixon, Bass) that is more athletic than JT (unlike Peters, who is not) but still bigger than our guys althetic enough to stay in front of them (Alstork, Joe T.). This is where having S. Davis is so critical, and in the past was why Cory Cooperwood, S. Wilson, and Jerran Young (and even Cole Darling to an extent) were so valuable defensively. We make a lot on this board about not having a "big man", but equally valuable or perhaps more so the way the league is now is having that 6-6 to 6-8 guy able to stay in front an athletic four but still big enough to help out on the glass.
