Our Raiders will be participating in the 2022 Vegas Championship in Las Vegas November 21-24, 2022. They will play three games at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson. Weber State will be participating, with other teams yet to be determined. Just food for thought. I haven't heard anything about a Vegas Championship yet. I'm sure its possible, but just realize that Weber State is also WSU MBB. SO unless it says Wright State, it may not be the Raiders. The ultimate hope would be a four team bracket also featuring Wichita State and Washington State. Who is the true WSU? Vegas will decide!

Looks like we need to upgrade our exposure on the west coast. Gonzaga's official athletic website thinks we are in the summit league. Wish these guys would just use logic in research. Don’t they know how far away all the other Summit teams are from us in Kitty Hawk?

Billy Donlon leaving KC per report from Jeff Goodman. He’s going to make a fantastic assistant to some major program.

As of this post every player on the HL First Team is either transferring or graduating. Same with the all defensive team. Only three players remain on the first and second teams combined. One all freshman team member transferred.

Updated April 14 Current count of HL players in the portal: 46
Other ways to break that down: - 32% of the league is transferring - One in every 3.1 players is transferring - THREE AND A HALF rosters worth players are transferring
Remember that this is based on the number of scholarships (13) allowed on each team. These are just the transfers.
This doesn’t take into account any openings left by graduation or otherwise unfilled roster spots. We’ve got a very different looking league next year.

Gold Glove winner and WSU grad Sean Murphy has started his new role as a meme. This is an unaltered version. Lots of replies and mentions with…style.

It looks like we are going with the cheapest route to get us back to the D1 minimum. It's rather disappointing that Wright State wouldn't invest enough into athletics to add some sports that could have increased enrollment and fan/student turnout. Nothing against the 3 sports we added but no student is going to go see a track and field event off campus. No student is going to go see a bowling event off campus. I like we are adding some opportunities for some new student athletes but is disappointing the university leadership didn't really listen to the company they paid to make recommendations. I was really excited with the idea of adding a lacrosse team. Guess I'll have to keep on dreaming. Budget.

I wonder if we'll ever figure out what's happened here. Quotes from coaches are talking about expecting all starters back and being surprised about Grant. How did two of our best players transfer out and come as a shock? See also: every low/mid major

This new system is brutal. I know it's been discussed especially during the rollout but having it come to fruition and practically gutting the team is so difficult. I don't know what the solution is but stuff like this is going to make winning in the tournament at the mid/low major level so difficult. The deck was already stacked against mid-major programs, and now it's only gotten worse with the no-sit rule. Good mid-major programs are like the Reds, just farming good players for better (power 6) teams. It isn't something we've really dealt with at this extent, but Grant & Tanner are going to get much better exposure at the p6 level, and if they can get serious minutes, it's life changing for them. Great for THEM, but awful for the betterment of our team and it's ability to win in the short term. It’s crappy/chaos for the programs and fans, but it’s a fair system for the student athletes. Try to operate with that from an administrative or coaching angle has got to be absolutely brutal, but it’s right from a moral perspective.

Not sure if this is the thread to post this. This tournament has been a HUGE one for a little more than just the basketball team. There’s a pretty decent reason I’ve barely posted this year but you always see me signed in and reading. I made an explanation and got the go ahead to post it. Hope you folks get just as much out of this Big Dance - and WSU in general - as I do. **The audio improves after the first two lines. Sorry bout that** Wright State on the Brain

I’ve been in the hospital for the last 28 days and that game was, by far, the most painful thing I’ve encountered.
