The Horizon League's chances at a potential #12 seed or so in the NCAA tourney are probably gone after Oakland drops three straight. Toledo, Syracuse, and Kansas. Not bad losses, as Toledo is a good mid-major and Syracuse and Kansas are...well...Syracuse and Kansas. They have good remaining opportunities in their schedule, but probably not enough big games to get an uncommonly high seed for the HL (assuming they even make it through HL tourney which apparently is no more guaranteed than it has been any other year). Still the powerhouse in the league, but not as much of a powerhouse perhaps as it seemed. More like a powershed than a powerhouse...

Check out the SDSU, WSU game right now. Is it fair to say that this is still a "Nagy" team, two years later? I imagine he recruited a vast majority of those guys still. Including Daum. And then an assistant coach took over I believe which typically leads to a continuity in play style and success. Is it accurate to assume that this isnthe kind of team WSU (raiders, not shockers) will be in a few years? Or is SDSU too long removed from Nagy for this to be a team where he can get some credit?

Their current head coach is TJ Otzelberger. He was not an assistant under Nagy and the vast majority of their current team consists of their new coach's recruits.

Wofford upset Georgia Tech and Xavier spanked Kent State. Also, Oakland lost to Eastern Michigan, NKU lost to ETSU, and Cleveland State lost to Western Michigan. Oh and Detroit lost to Toledo in Bacardi Alexander's not so triumphant return from God knows where.

And this weekend's results are in:
- Youngstown pays tribute to their long-running relationship with former league opponent Butler and loses by 28. - Detroit overcomes a 5-point halftime lead to lose to Western Michigan by 8. (Bright spot: UDM guard Corey Allen put up 32 points in the effort) - Oakland's Jaylen Hayes scores a career-high 30 points in an 82-50 victory over winless Chicago State. Despite the Grizzlies' best efforts, their margin of victory is only 4th largest among CSU's opponent's this year. - UIC falls to cross-town rivals DePaul in the latest edition of Dikembe Dixson's Great Disappearing Act of 2017-18. Dixson goes 2-13 from the floor. Odiase blocks six shots - Green Bay helps a Mizzou sophomore's dream come true by letting him come off the bench and score 28 points in 23 minutes. - Milwaukee loses by 21 to a team that beat IUPUI by 13. Gulp. - IUPUI loses to Purdue by a slightly smaller margin (25) than Valpo did this week, proving to everyone that the HL made an upgrade - CLEVELAND STATE DOMINATES NOTRE DAME (college) 89-56! - NKU takes down a fellow Directional Kentucky school 91-63
HL goes 3-6 vs. D1 on the weekend. CSU learns to read the fine print on their scheduling contracts.
