Sam Houston State needed extra innings to slip vast #12 Vandy, 7-6.
In Arlington Top of 2nd good guys up 4-0 and still batting...put 3 up in First (2 earned).

Raiders improve to 4-5 with an 8-6 victory over UT-Arlington. WSU took an early 4-1 lead, but gave up 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th to trail 4-6 heading into the 8th. Raiders tied the game in the 8th with 2 runs and pushed the final 2 runs across the plate in the 9th.
Back at it again tomorrow afternoon at 3 PM Eastern.

Raiders left their pitching staff back in the hotel in Dallas this afternoon. They didn't make the short bus trip to Arlington--At least that's the way it looked. Raiders gave up 10 earned runs in the first six innings in creating an 8 run deficit (10-2)...Raiders offense battled back to tie the score 10-10 only to lose in the 11th with a UT-Arlington walk-off homer. Raiders lose 11-10. All the Mavericks runs were earned...

Raiders pitching got the memo (Re: Itinerary) about the bus schedule to the ball park. They showed up today.
Raiders win rubber game vs. UT-Arlington, 7-2.
11 game 3 weekend southern swing had WSU going 5-6. Not bad considering 8 of those games were at preseason top-100 clubs. Tulane is the question mark. I'm sure the players would like to have that series back. If this club had won just one down in the Big Easy they would have had a winning record for their long road trip...

Baseball off to a strong start in game 1 against Hartford. 6-1 Raiders after 5 with Weiss on the mound.
Hartford, out of the America East Conf., is 1-7 with their 7 losses coming on the road at #17 South Alabama and at #2 Oregon State.

Raiders finish off Hartford, 11-2 to improve to .500 on the season. Will look to put together their first three game win streak of the season as they return to Nischwitz tomorrow and face Hartford at 11a, Dayton at 3p in the doubleheader.

End 7 - Raiders compile for 15 hits, they've reached a base at least once every inning and lead the Hawks 11 - 4.

Hartford is kinda of a hard team to read. I know their record sucks and they were swept at South Alabama and Oregon State...both ranked...Oregon State #2. However, their scores at OSU in the 4-game series were respectable...didn't really get blown out. They lost two games to the Beavers by one run (3-2 and 5-4) and two by identical scores of 5-0.
