I was watching and couldn't tell on any of them even with replay...they were all really close. If the first was a homer, it barely cleared the fence but also went over a portion of the wall that was white. Peyton didn't flinch with the way he played it and that helped sell/fake it. The ULL team still had 2nd and 3rd nobody out so, shame on them.
The second one was called a homer, I thought Orr ( I think ) might have had his glove over and brought it back in ( but I'd have to see what was behind the wall to see if something could have caused it ). I knew the announcer was off by suggesting it was hit off the brick of the scoreboard supports.
Play at first would require more angles.
As it was, I wasn't sure the game was really over until the umpires left the field.

Wow, that sounds like a wild one. I wish I could have watched it. I do not think this team is playing as good as they can yet. This team could really turn out to be a special team. I can't wait to see where the team is in May.

Those home run issues are strictly on ULL. They just completed a $16 Million renovation on their park and they don't have any yellow bordering on top of the outfield walls. The home run that was called a double went over a white advertisement sign. If there had been clear demarcation it would have been easier for the umpiring crew to see if the ball cleared the wall.
Additionally, the sound of a ball hitting a solid mature pine tree sounds different than when it strikes a 3/4" plywood wall. That should have been a clue to the umpire, but maybe they couldn't hear it over the crowd noise.

For those interested, replays are on Twitter. Search Ragin Cajuns. You'll find them (and their fans all up in arms about it).
Cut the darn trees down and learn make the field better (as previously mentioned tommygun), and you wouldn't have balls bouncing back into play.

Next Game...Tuesday, Feb., 27 at Sam Houston State (7:30 PM EST).
Game can be seen on ESPN3
Odds & Ends:
LU averaged 4,982 fans for the Raiders series over the weekend. Friday's crowd of 5,196 was the largest of the three games. The Raiders have played in front of over 20K fans in the first 2 weekends.
SHSU is on a 5 game winning streak (5-1) and has dominated Ohio teams. They went 2-1 vs. Kent (preseason MAC favorite) in the opening weekend and swept UC this past weekend. UC was coming off an impressive opening weekend road trip going 2-1 out west. They split 2 games vs #13 San Diego and won their only game vs. Cal.
This will be a good test for this Raider team. Hopefully we can catch the Bearkats looking forward to their big weekend series at Minute Maid park (home of the Astros) as they play #12 Vanderbilt, #7 Kentucky, and #21 Miss. State.
Tulane crashed back down to reality of preseason predictions and was swept in Oxford by Ole Miss.

Looks like it may be a long night down in Texas. Raiders down 5-0 after 2 innings. Kreuzer has been disappointing so far. Got behind the first batter in bot of 2nd and had to groove a fast ball...which was parked about 50 feet behind left center field. Then Kreuzer acted like he was afraid every hitter would do the same...so walked bases loaded with only 1 or 2 pitches coming close to being a strike. He's really struggled to get pitches over the plate. Luckily SHSU helped us and the 2nd out was a caught stealing....attempt at 3rd.

The PBP guy on the ESPN3 broadcast is about as bad as I have heard.

The PBP guy on the ESPN3 broadcast is about as bad as I have heard. Unfortunately there are 2 things worse on this broadcast. 1) WSU Pitching. 2) WSU offense.

So far, Wright State has laid a giant turd on the field. This is getting ugly.

Raiders score 3 in the 8th and 5 in the 9th to take the lead at SHS 10-6. Seth Gray hit a grand slam in the 9th.
