I think the first thing to notice is we've got the winner of the UIC/Milwaukee game. I'm sure you don't all need to be reminded that we were 2-0 against UIC this season, and 0-2 against Milwaukee. Usually, I'm all about that upset...but I don't want to see Milwaukee in Detroit.
The other thing to note, I know Oakland isn't as good as it used to be, but, they're playing at home essentially, and they are the only team I think that stands any chance to take NKU down. Nobody else on their side of the bracket really stands a chance in my opinion. But crazier things have happened.

Everyone here would have been ecstatic in October to be the #2 seed. Doesn't feel great right now but frankly that won't matter in a few days. I'm really proud of what this team has accomplished. I hope the "what could have been" part of the season is over. NCAA or bust!
My predictions:
Oakland will continue their streak and lose the opening round to IUPUI.
NKU, WSU and UIC all win their opening round games. WSU will be the closest one and I think we win by 8.
NKU will dominate the semis winning by almost 20 so they will be rested for Tuesday.
WSU will edge UIC by one possession in a game that will end just before midnight.
NKU will prove why they won the regular season crown and will close out WSU to win the championship 79-74.
Last year had a ton of upsets and I'd love to see some this year but hopefully not us! I'd be shocked if any team outside the top 3 made the finals.
The tournament should be exciting and I would love to see our guys cut down the nets. I've already taken March 6 off work and am ready to drive to Detroit if we make it that far.
This is the best time of year! Go Raiders!

1) I'm concerned this team plays down to their competition. Hence the bad league losses.
2) I'm concerned about the lack of depth. Playing the 2-game weekend schedule WSU was able to manage the short bench. Playing 3 games in 4 days (if we make it that far) concerns me.

Just find a way. It'd be a great time for Grant to get hot from 3 point land.

I certainly don't like the notion of trying to beat NKU for a third time on a neutral floor, and would much rather see Oakland in the final. But I just don't see it happening. The only team in the conference that really tested NKU were Oakland, Milwaukee, and Green Bay. Both the UW teams are on our side of the bracket, and Oakland just isn't the same team that pushed NKU around on their home court. Could Oakland do it? Sure. Is it likely to happen given the current composition of the team? No. There's nobody else standing in NKU's way, and they should be in the finals with relative ease in my opinion.
I'd rather be looking at the possible options that NKU is looking at, but we pissed that away 4 games over. The teams on our side of the bracket played us tough. Obviously Milwaukee swept us, but Detroit played us close at Calihan, Green Bay played us tight twice, and UIC played us tight twice. There's not going to be an easy win for the Raiders in the league tournament.

As far as tournament goes it’s one game at a time. Focus on the game at hand. We beat the #1 seed on their home court this year but we lose to CSU. It all depends on if the 3 point shooting team shows up to drain them . Just as important is our 3 point shot defense.

I certainly don't like the notion of trying to beat NKU for a third time on a neutral floor, and would much rather see Oakland in the final. But I just don't see it happening. Likewise. Considering how shorthanded they are and how Kampe's teams usually perform in the tournament, not counting on it. That being said, they still have the talent on the floor to compete with NKU should that matchup occur. And if that should happen coupled with WSU making it by the bottom portion of the bracket, those would be two tired, scrappy teams fighting it out. All hypothetical of course, and lots of basketball to be played between now and then.

UIC is transporting interested students in their own train car, putting them up in a hotel, including tickets, and a pregame pizza party all for free.
NKU is sponsoring a bus up to the opening round for students, $10 includes the bus ride and the tickets to the game.
Oakland and Detroit, obviously have their own local constituents who will be present at the game, including students in some capacity.
Haven't heard a peep for a deal for Raider students, and nothing from BG. The last time they did it @nku, only 17 students showed up (per a student on Twitter).

With the current financial situation, I understand why there isn’t something for the students. If we’re fortunate enough to make it to the HL championship game I would think that there would be something. But for the first and hopefully second game I’d be shocked if there actually was something

does anyone know if our first game will be on espn3?? Yes. Both the men and women (#3 seed) should be on ESPN 3.
