At the end of the HL Championship, the color commentator was asked what would need to happen for a team like WSU to make some noise in the tournament and he said it would be favorable for them to play early on Thursday.
While I'm not bold enough to call for a huge WSU upset, as others have alluded to, the matchup is actually decent and you'd think with the game not being close to Knoxville the fans will be pulling for WSU.
Very happy I am getting off of work at noon on both Friday and Saturday if the game is in fact an early Thursday game.
It's a blast talking about the Raiders in Big Dance!

That's 11:40 am local time. At least our guys have experience playing that early. Hope they use that to their advantage this time and gut out a win. This is a winnable game. Go Raiders! It said 12:40 ET, so 12:40 local, not 11:40. Ahem. It's 11:40 locally...in Dallas...Where the game is being played.

This is a pretty good draw in terms of physical matchup. They have a deep rotation, but the two tallest guys who get minutes are 6'11" and 6'7".
The 6'11" guy averages a little over 5 ppg and Reb. The 6'7" guy was SEC Player of the Year. He gets in a lot of foul trouble, though, so if Parker can get him on a dribble drive it could work out well.
Beyong that everyone ranges from 6'0" to 6'5" Their second best player is the 6'5" fellow, which is a solid matchup for Hughes.
I'm feeling a hell of a lot better about this matchup than the Aaron Gray Pitt team in Buffalo.

The Knoxville Sentinel has already put on line why the Vols should make a deep run in the Tourney. I hope their players read that article over and over on their Charter flight to DFW why they're so good and should have an easy opening weekend.

Early start time ... if we come out loose and ready, perhaps we can catch Vols napping 😴 Also interesting to note that if we pull the upset and Loyola beats Miami, we could have a rematch with our old Horizon foe who we lost a close one to earlier this year.

Based on how we fared in our one prior A.M. start....hope we learned a thing or 2.

Haha! Oh wow. Sounds like a dick thing to say, but you know he's just being honest. That's our own fault. We gotta change our perception so folks will know who we are!

13.5 point dogs? Not the worst. When will they announce game times? If I were a betting man I'd put money on Wright State to cover...
