Congratulations to all of the WSU graduates ( think there were 13 from this year's baseball roster ).
Don't want to say what I really thought of the games in Youngstown but, winning 2 of 3 keeps standings about the same ( which isn't close to clinching anything ). FWIW, Wednesday's game in Columbus is on BTN at 6:30.

Raiders have dominated OSU tonight scoring first and leading most of the way.
But Haught just gave up a two run home run in the bottom of the 8th and the Raiders are now in the wrong side of the scoreboard.
OSU is a bottom of the barrel team in the Big10 and a .500 team; if we cant put a run across in the 9th, we are looking at another bad loss.

Quiet 9th for the Raiders. Time to focus on NKU coming to town this weekend.

This is not that bad of a loss RPI-wise. We've done a great job of boosting other team's RPI. This team has the potential to go a lot further than our basketball team could even dream of going, but I have to admit, this year's Raiders frustrate the heck out of me.
Wright State's RPI only dropped to 82.

Wright States RPI stands at 82 (34-15). There are four northern schools that are peers or near-peers that have a higher RPI.
-Creighton RPI 23 (29-10)-- they have more resources than WSU because they get TV money from the Big East and they draw north of 16,000 per basketball game. The Blue Jays are a projected two seed in the NCAA Regionals.
-Indiana State RPI 28 (34-11)-- they are pretty similar to Wright State in terms of resources. Projected 2/3 seed
-Illinois State RPI 29 (28-20) -- another school similar to WSU.
-Xavier RPI 65 (21-27) -- more resources, but not as good as WSU.
You could throw Gonzaga in there with an RPI of 76 (25-20)
That is pretty good that there are only four/five peer type non-southern schools that have an RPI better than the Raiders.
Wright State does a pretty good job of scheduling games, if we could get a few more games against upper half Big 10 schools, plus the usual mix of SEC schools that RPI could get into the 30s. If you can get 40 wins and an RPI under 40 then an at-large bid is possible. Schools like Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Nebraska would really help the RPI. Keep playing Kentucky and add Louisville too. I don't know how hard it is to schedule these teams, but I think it is much easier than in hoops.

Winning the other night might not have been important to the big picture but, I'm still bent out of shape that the Raiders struck out 15 times in a weeknight game.
Take care of business ( you owe NKU ).

Closing the deal and getting the sweep is where the Raiders have had problems. Let's see if Raider Gang gets it done. Come on out if you can to Fifth-Third Field.
