Final: Wright State 12, #9 ECU 4. Beating Utah (4-5) would be a great way to close this event out, with a sweep bumping Wright State to 5-3 overall. Utah has split the weekend so far, losing to ECU 7-6 and stomping WCU 14-0.

I’d imagine we might be ranked if we beat Utah and perhaps even if we lose. Thoughts from the more experienced baseball fans? Does that seem too irrational?

If we beat Utah tomorrow, as we should, I don't see us being ranked. Perhaps we'll pick up some votes and be listed as "others receiving votes." That would be a good start. I think there are still some questions about how good our pitching is.

WSU hoops and baseball both won within several minutes of each other---outstanding!

I think today's game against Utah started an hour early but, someone for forgot to tell the Raiders. Long way to go after giving up 4 in the top of 1st.

Spotting Utah 4 runs in the first didn't help. Raiders lose 12-8. All 12 runs scored by Utah were earned.

I think with 3 wins against ranked opponents if we take care of bussiness with teams we should beat we’ll be ranked in no time.

We really don't have many more opportunities for quality wins. Even if we take care of business in the HL and ooc it won't show up on the radar of voters.
Tomorrow's game vs. UK has been cancelled/postponed. We're trying to find an acceptable makeup date both teams can agree too. I really wish the athletic dept. wouldn't remove cancelled or postponed games from the schedule (as we did, do). UK has it listed as postponed. For prospective recruits, fans, media (voters), other coaches want to see who Wright State plays or is scheduled to play and it helps leaving those games on the schedule. For crying out loud, we removed our 3rd game of the series at Ole Miss too. The Rebels have it listed correctly--Cancelled.
As far as losing to Utah that one hurts. They're a middling program in the PAC-12, but the PAC is arguably one of the best conferences in the country and will probably finish rated #1 or #2 in RPI this year. Beating Utah would have paid off really good dividends all season long in RPI.

Boy, that schedule does look thin on quality. One more quality game on the schedule and that is Indiana on 4/3. Ohio State on 5/8, will probably be a quality game after OSU plays their Big 10 schedule. If the Raiders actually play one of those two we will be fortunate.
