So far all games are going in a favorable way to the Raiders. Cleveland State leading IUPUI 7-6 (insignificant completely but still), Oakland trails Milwaukee 15-8, and Detroit is beating Green Bay 14-7

Make that 29-14 Milwaukee over Oakland and 32-17 Detroit over Green Bay. The league is interesting this year to say the least

Detroit over Green Bay big is the surprise of the night last night. I'm a lot less surprised after seeing what Detroit has offensively, but it certainly tightens the league race up. 8 of the 10 teams either have 1 or 2 conference losses. Really the league is wide open at this point aside from the two bottom feeders in NE Ohio. Halfway through the third weekend in league play, I don't think anyone saw Detroit at 4-1, but they also opened with a pretty easy schedule playing 4 at home and 2 road games at CSU and YSU.

Weekend recap:
Detroit, playing at home, sweeps the Wisconsin teams in relatively non-competitive games beating Green Bay 18 and Milwaukee by 9 to maintain it's spot atop the league standings at 5-1. Detroit faces a steep climb to end the season with all of the tough road trips still ahead of them.
Oakland splits the weekend defeating Green Bay and dropping a 3 point decision to Milwaukee on the blacktop.
UIC swept CSU and YSU in what amounts to non-competitive games. IUPUI split with the same two knocking off the Vikings by 16, and dropping a 6 point decision to the Penguins.
After three weekends:
Detroit 5-1 NKU 4-1 Oakland 4-2 Green Bay 3-2 UIC 3-2 IUPUI 2-3 WSU 2-3 Milwaukee 2-3 YSU 2-4 CSU 0-6
This weekend:
WSU and NKU travel to CSU/YSU (Thurs/Sat) UIC and IUPUI travel to GB/MIL (Thurs/Sat) Oakland at Detroit (Saturday)
Games to watch:
Oakland at Detroit - a battle of 2 of the top 3 teams goes down at 2pm at Calihan. This series typically draws well and could have major seeding implications down the stretch. UIC at Green Bay - Green Bay got swept up in Michigan this weekend after being perched atop the league out of the gates. Can they bounce back against UIC who are on a 2 game win streak?

Green Bay beats UIC for a favorable outcome to the Raiders. We are currently tied for 4th I believe. And if Oakland loses we will be tied for 3rd. I think

Oakland beat Detroit which certainly tightens things up behind NKU at the top of the leaderboard.
WSU, UIC, and IUPUI all have 7 home games down the stretch, more than anyone else in the league.
Detroit has 7 road games, Oakland has 6, so the schedule would appear to be in our favor down the stretch compared to who is ahead of us.

It's a big weekend in league play and a nice opportunity for the Raiders to move up the rankings with 4 of the 5 teams at or above our record playing on the road. It's also not out of the question that NKU could drop their first home game of the year to the Phoenix or Panthers. There's a lot to sort out, and there's legitimately 8 teams that could still win the league. CSU looks to be firmly anchored at the back of the bus, and barring a big turnaround, is likely to miss the party. Youngstown also needs a turnaround, albeit a little less drastic, but has a nice group of athletic players who can impact games and could still pull off a few upsets.
Bottom line is, if we sweep the weekend, we come out of the 3 loss logjam and certainly improve our position moving forward. Having said that, on to this weekend's schedule.
Wisconsin teams on the road against WSU and NKU (Thurs/Sat) Michigan teams on the road at IUPUI and UIC (Thurs / Sat) YSU at CSU (Sat)
Current standings:
NKU 5-1 OAK 5-2 DET 5-2 GB 4-3 WSU 4-3 UWM 4-3 IUPUI 3-4 UIC 3-4 YSU 2-6 CSU 0-8

IUPUI is leading Oakland by 5 with 12 to play. Looks like Cumberland just hurt his knee unfortunately. Would be a huge loss for Oakland
