If you want a chuckle, head over to the NKU board and see one (not the only "regular") fan completely losing his shit over the weekend sweep.

If you want a chuckle, head over to the NKU board and see one (not the only "regular") fan completely losing his shit over the weekend sweep. The guy has 6 total posts. It’s most likely a fan of another HL school trolling their board.

Weekend Recap:
The winners:
Youngstown State - went into Detroit and Oakland and squeaked out wins putting pressure on Milwaukee and the slew of 5-loss team for the 8th and final spot in the league tournament. UIC - knocked off WSU and NKU at home and finished 3-1 against the top 2 preseason teams in the regular season.
The losers:
Cleveland State - They have pretty much locked up not participating in the league tournament with pathetic showings at Detroit and Oakland. Northern Kentucky - Swept at IUPUI and UIC to allow reopen the entire league race.
The standings:
NKU 8-3 WSU 7-4 (owns current tiebreaker over Oakland, worth nothing) OAK 7-4 UIC 6-5 DET 6-5 IUPUI 6-5 GB 5-5 MIL 4-6 YSU 4-7 CSU 1-10
This week's schedule:
Thursday:
GB @ CSU, 7pm OAK @ WSU, 7pm MIL @ YSU, 7pm DET @ NKU, 7pm
Saturday:
UIC @ IUPUI, 1pm MIL @ CSU, 3pm GB @ YSU, 6pm DET @ WSU, 7pm OAK @ NKU, 7pm
Normally I highlight games to watch, but all of the Friday games are at the same time as ours, and the Saturday early games aren't incredibly intriguing, but the IUPUI vs. UIC game is the most interesting. IUPUI beat UIC by 2 in January, so IUPUI is going for the sweep on their home hardwood.

The irony is, this year the Horizon League, in aggregate, is a better conference than last year--via the metrics. But there appears to be more parity and that may not play out well for the world's perception of the HL come the tournament. The HL is a 1-bid league and depending on who wins the league they could receive a seed anywhere between 13-16, and the 13 seed was before the NKU loss at UIC. In short, there's an increasing probability the HL champ could be a 15 or 16 seed...a lower seed with an overall improved conference from last year.

YSU has won three in a row by a combined four points. They get a big test in two weeks when they play us & NKU on the road. They won't be an easy out if they end up as the #8 seed for whoever is #1.

Youngstown is certainly trending up while Milwaukee is now the favorite to join CSU on the outside of the league tournament.
There's still a huge jam of 5 loss teams, it is important to widen that gap and lock up the 1/2/3 seed (rather not the 4).

A couple close games up north this evening. YSU continues to roll and has a pretty big game Saturday against UIC. I believe YSU needs one more win to lock up a playoff spot, and they are going to be a tough out. UIC squeaks past CSU, and the Vikings are officially out of the playoff hunt.
IUPUI 73 YSU 75
UIC 81 CSU 77

Oakland 54 Green Bay 66
Detroit 90 Milwaukee 84
The Panthers take a back seat view to the league playoffs and will need a miracle to make it to Motor City Madness.

YSU over UIC by 8 and Oakland leads Mikwaukee by 9. If the Oakland score holds, that's the best possible weekend we could have asked for.
