It all comes down to this. Win and we clinch the #1 seed and everything that goes with it. Lose, and give all of that up if NKU is able to defeat Green Bay (1pm Saturday). Milwaukee has literally nothing to play for, and would love to knock us out of the top perch. Just not a great position to be in up against a team playing for nothing but pride. Let's get it done.

Not sure how a win clinches the 1 seed since we are now tied with NKU again. If both teams win then it comes down to tie breakers.

The tiebreaker scenarios are currently in our favor because Oakland is the most likely team to finish at the 3 seed line. The tiebreakers are solved down (not up), so if WSU and NKU have the same record, you look at the team (or possibly teams) right below them. Since Oakland is 3, we swept Oakland, and NKU did not, ergo, we're the 1 seed.
A Green Bay victory over NKU eliminates the need for a tiebreaker at the one line, and would vault Green Bay over Oakland (who split on the season) to the 3 line because of Green Bay's victory of #1 seeded Wright State.
However, there is one more wrinkle that could monkey the plan. (One I didn't realize in my initial post) Luckily, we will know long before our game starts as to what needs to happen. If Oakland, Green Bay, and UIC all end at 10-8 (relatively unlikely), then we'd fall to the 2 line because NKU has 5 wins against those teams compared to our 4 wins. This scenario would require Oakland and Detroit to both lose on their home courts on senior night (both games are at 4pm).
If NKU wins (1pm) and we lose, there is obviously no way to get the #1 seed.
All of this is really meaningless, as the #1 seed has failed to win a single game at Motor City Madness since it's inception.

Obviously the goal is to win the tournament and go to the NCAA but it would be nice to have the NIT invitation in our back pocket in case we stumble. Let’s beat Milwaukee and hope for the best.

Oakland has buried IUPUI. If we win this game, we will be the #1 seed in the league tournament.
#1 WSU would face #8 IUPUI (with a win). #2 WSU would face #7 Detroit or Youngstown (depends on the YSU/CSU game).
All the more reason to finish #1.

Over 4 minutes into the game and we lead 3-0. Offense looks like crap. 4 of our 7 shots have been 3s and we are 0-4 from them.

Snooze fest offensively, that's for sure. This is a team we should be riding Love against. Nobody to match his physicality. He had a double double in the first matchup.

0-5 from deep. Not a good omen.
