Big game tonight. Feel this game will give momentum for the winner going on the road. Whoever wins this game is probably going to be the league champion. Winning this game will give confidence to us that we haven’t seen in a long time.
I think Nagy will have them ready defensively. Guys have to have more desire to get those rebounds and loose balls. Offensively if we finish at the rim and don’t settle for jump shots we will win easily tonight. Missing bunnies is our downfall.
WSU 84 NKU. 67

Offensively if we finish at the rim and don’t settle for jump shots we will win easily tonight. Missing bunnies is our downfall. WSU 84 NKU. 67 To piggy back on that, WSU really has to win this game. If we don't, we fall into a tie with NKU atop the league standings, and still have to retrun the game on 2/28. If we lose tonight, we then at worst keep pace with NKU then beat them at BB&T, or get lucky and gain a game on NKU while on the road. There's a lot of ball to be played still, but tonight goes a long, long way. Especially consindering NKU is still without Dantez Walton, and probably will have him back for our return game. We really need to get them tonight, at home, without one of, if not their best player.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Walton plays tonight. Colleges are pretty notorious for saying players are day to day and 1-2 weeks from playing only to have them show up ready to play for their next big game. We did that ourselves talking about how long Lou was going to be out from his elbow injury. Colleges have real no incentive to be accurate in their injury reports. NKU wants our game plan to be for a Walton-less NKU squad. If all of a sudden he is available tonight that changes everything.

I look for him to play. He will be rusty for sure. It took Jaylon Hall a few games to get into game shape. If we hit our little layups that we miss 70% of the time and shoot 70% from the free throw line it won’t make a difference who they have back.

This is from the Northern Kentucky Tribune, dated 1/20/20. WALTON INJURY UPDATE: NKU leading scorer Dantez Walton, who has missed the past nine games with an injury to his upper chest/shoulder area, is still on the sidelines and the timetable for his return is unknown. “He’s making progress. He’s starting to do a few more things,” NKU head coach Darrin Horn said. “But he’s still a ways away from live contact, and even when that happens, it has to happen for a period of time before we feel comfortable putting him back in games.” Walton averages 18.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-6 senior is also shooting 54 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from 3-point range. www.nkytribune.com/2020/01/college-basketball-notebook-sharpe-honored-by-horizon-league-walton-making-progress-from-injury/

Like I said earlier, NKU has every reason to make us think he isn't ready to play tonight and no incentive to have us think otherwise. He could very well be out another week or 2, but I won't be surprised in the least if he plays tonight.

It almost feels like a must win, as the final game is at NKU. A win would give us a 2 game lead, and it's becoming clear it will come down to WSU-NKAU for the regular season title.
Hoping to see a packed house of WSU fans tonight.
Raider Up.

27 minutes to tip off and all ready it's the biggest crowd we've had all year. The Student Section is packed.
